Ok I found a solution. I made a quick batch file with Notepad: ren *.mp4 *.video I saved it in the videos folder as ExtensionChange.bat, double-clicked to run, and viola! The video extension bypasses some HVEC features of K-Lite. Rather than buy the $1 pack they offer, you can just change the extension of the videos.

I thought this might be the case. The installer doesn't ask if I want to instal K-Lite, so I installed it separately with no luck. Perhaps I can uninstall K-Lite then try the LB installer again.

Well I was able to fix the issue with FFMPEG but now I'm getting hit with the expected performance issues.

I'm having an issue where any video playback is only a black screen with no sound. This happens in both LaunchBox and BigBox. The .mp4 file is recognized by LaunchBox. I've tried reinstalling the latest version and also tried swapping to FFMPEG with no luck. Any ideas?
