  1. I started with a 6TB and I am down to 1Tb free space but most of the space is taken up by Xbox, PS3, Switch ect. So it depends if you will be emulating newer systems or not. If its only Retro then you don't need much, 4tb would be more than enough, but if you got a beefy PC and can run the PS3 type stuff it's go big or go home... I'm gonna end up upgrading to like a 12Tb before its all said and done probably.

  2. I wanted to get OBS set up so I could make my own video snaps, and the tutorial from ETA Prime is a few years old now so I'm not sure if something has changed but here is my issue. I got OBS setup to record but there seems to be a problem with the Pause Menu in various emulators, from what the tutorial said I am supposed to capture my video then open the Pause Menu and exit the game at which time Launchbox will prompt me if I wanna associate the video with the game. I was testing this with RPCS3 and I kept getting 2 different pause menus, one overriding the other like they were fighting for dominance, I finally figured out that RPCS3 has a built in video recorder too and apparently the Hotkey for the RPCS3 Pause Menu must be the Guide Button on my Xbox controller which I had mapped as the Pause Menu button in Launchbox. I also had to disable that button in Steam so it wouldn't pull up steam when I press it. Then it might also pull up the Xbox gamebar if I it press while not in emulation so it's kind of a mess lol. It seems like button combos are all mapped to something random and I cant find a button combo to just open the Launchbox Pause Menu. I cannot find a way in RPCS3 To remap or disable the built in Pause Menu so there is a direct conflict.

I eventually gave up after a couple hours fighting with RPCS3 and attempted to move on to yuzu and figure out how to capture video snaps for switch, no such luck, the button mapping that I assigned to the Guide Button for the launchbox Pause Menu does nothing while running Yuzu. So that's where I'm at, The only option I can see is to let OBM manually save the videos to my Videos folder, then Manually rename each video to the name of the associated game and drag it into the Launchbox directory Videos folder 1 by 1 which is going to be a much longer process. If anybody has streamlined a way to capture video snaps in various emulators can ya help me out here.

Do you remember which folder you added your games into within the LaunchBox\Games folder? By default, the system will not import any arcade based systems, so I'm curious how that happened for you.

If you have any backups saved under LaunchBox\Backups, it might be best for you to load one of those up using Tools > File Management > Restore Data Backup

Honestly I have no idea how it did that but it did. The Final Burn Neo Roms were in a folder called Final Burn Neo, not the Arcade folder, so I guess that would be why. Anyways, I solved it by throwing everything Mame in the garbage bin, I'll never play those games anyways, no point having it messing up the arcades I might actually play.

  4. For me it's a bit frustrating because I do like the Auto Import Feature but I do not like 150 empty folders I will never ever use. The scrolling through the empty folders alone is enough to be annoying. Can we add an option to permanently delete empty folders or something like that in the future while still retaining the Auto Rom Import? I love that it creates correctly named folders, I just don't want the empty ones.

I just removed the exit codes and the emulators are exiting...whomp whomp! Thanks for the help!

I was pulling my hair out trying to get RPCS3 to exit with controller command in BigBox, lots of internet searches and attempts to make it work and the whole time it was the script that was preventing it, You're the Man bro! Thanks. Now I can officially close all my emulators from the controller in Big Box which really helps for streaming BB from my PC to other devices with Moonlight.

Saw that but its too much manual entry for a large collection. Also you still have 2 copies of the games since Vita3k requires the games to be installed in its emulated storage directory.

  7. So I didn't run Launchbox very much for a while and I wasnt aware of the Automatic Rom Scanning feature which is a completely awesome feature dont get me wrong, but I messed up a little. So what happened was I wanted to add Final Burn Neo to my collection, about 2000 roms, but I added them to my launchbox folder before creating a new platform just for final burn and when I launched Launchbox it auto scanned the roms under Mame... I was able to go ahead and creat the Final Burn Neo Platform under Arcade and rescan the roms, but now the roms are basically double scanned, so my actual game count is off by 2000. How would I go about fixing this and removing the final burn neo roms from Mame?

  8. So last night I followed the guides found here to set up my Auto Hot Keys on my controller to be able to exit games in LB and BB which I got working just fine, but then I launched the pcsx2 emulator by itself to test some settings and the escape key no longer worked to suspend the running game, later I opened Kodi to watch a tv show and afterwords the escape key no longer worked to exit to the main menu in kodi. I am running Lb on my PC if that helps. Not sure what to do from here, If I remove the hotkey settings in Lb I cant exit games properly but it appears to have broken the escape key in other programs...
