I've been tinkering with the idea of building a tabletop arcade controller all-in-one for a long time and I think I'm ready to begin. I've built little retropi machines in the past and am ready to take on something more robust. Would like to verify that my repurposed PC will be able to handle most emulators and configurations for a build that will include mostly arcade MAME titles and maybe some console stuff up to possibly PS2. Here are the components I have available:
MOBO: ASUS prime z270-p
CPU: i5-7500
GPU: rx-570
RAM: 16gb DDR4 3200mhz (2x 8gb)
PSU: 650w modular
Boot drive: m.2 NVME 1 TB
HDD: 8TB internal 7200rpm and 1TB internal 7200rpm
OS: windows 10
I built this PC a few years ago and nobody really uses it so I upgraded a couple things and here we are. Just want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything. I've been reading a little bit in the forums and have seen a lot of different setups so any recommendations for optimal configurations for big box based on my specific hardware would be appreciated.
Thanks!
