For some reason, my pause menu doesn't look like the ones in the pictures. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Hi there and sorry for the troubles you are having with the theme. You should watch the video preview of the theme. There you will see what assets are used in the views. The background changes from gameplay to fanart/boxart because we don't need to show the gameplay screenshot anymore when the video is playing. You can't change this behaviour through bigbox/launchbox settings. If you want to change something in the theme, please use the CTC files to modify the views.

This is hopefully my last question! First of all, thanks for the patience. So in Pulse, the background was originally the boxart but after grabbing screenshots of the gameplay, whenever I select a game it will briefly show that screenshot of the gameplay as the background then quickly fade into the boxart as the background. Is this the theme specifically doing something or is this in Launchbox itself? I have only the background prioritizing the boxart for the background so I don't know what's happening. Thanks for any help! Hopefully I'm making sense.

Have a look at your screenshot priorities in Launchbox, maybe you have other images you don't have with higher priorities.

Or maybe not. I just downloaded a title screenshot and gameplay screenshot but it did not populate. Are there specific Theme Settings for Pulse or Settings in general in Big Box that will show the screenshot? I'm sorry I'm so confused. I'm just trying to either get rid of the blank box or put something there. Not sure why after testing it out with a couple of games that it's not now populating after downloading a couple of screenshots.

Thanks. Is that what it’s doing though, looking for emumovies? I’ll just download the metadata but I didn’t know what it was looking for.

Hello all, wondering if you can answer a question for me regarding the Pulse theme. I have games set to Text List with Details, I do have the boxart showing up now but there's a blank square to the left of the boxart. What metadata is that looking for? And can I disable it so the box isn't showing? Is it a screenshot, emumovies? Thanks to anyone!

Looks like the old Pulse version. Delete the whole Pulse theme folder, unzip the 2.0 and from the theme management options change theme to something else then change back to Pulse. Remember to clear image cache from options.
I’m probably doing something completely wrong. But when I do that the theme looks completely different, it does have the box art but it’s like it’s not even the same theme. I originally installed Pulse directly from Big Box.

I just installed it over the Pulse folder but it's the same thing for me. The box art isn't showing up for each individual game, it only has it as the background. So it's like pulling the box art but using it as the background for each game. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. It's an awesome theme though. It's no big deal if the box art isn't showing, I was just wondering if I have a setting wrong or something. Thanks!

Ahh! Then that’s my problem. Sorry. It’s looking great though and I can’t wait! I was previously using another theme for the box art would disappear after a few seconds, presumably pulling from something I never scraped. But after seeing Pulse, it’s become my new favorite theme. Love it.

Oh, yes I’m sorry, I meant in Big Box with the Pulse theme. I saw some videos of Pulse where in the text view with details it was showing the box art. If I switch to another theme, the box art is there. So I didn’t know if I had to do something specific with Pulse. It seems it’s using the box art but pulling it as the background for each game. Like in the video posted above at the 2:08 mark. It looks like it’s the text view with a video (which I don’t scrape) and the box art (which I do).

How do you get the box art to show up in text view? I’m getting it as a background for each game but for other themes they show up as box art.

Where is that? I’m trying to find a PC or Steam banner. I’ve imported my Steam games. I usually use Steam Big Picture Mode and I have all my games there including non-Steam games and I’ve imported all of those into a Steam platform but the general image it pulled for the platform is out of place with the rest of the other platform images.

Is there a way to prevent the Box Art from disappearing when on a game? Or change the amount of time? I’m guessing it’s going to a video or some other image but I only downloaded and want the box art. If I’m not describing it well, once you’ve selected a game, a line starts to go down the screen and then once it reaches the bottom, the image disappears. Can I change that behavior? Thanks anyone.
