  1. So i did some googling and found the following. You need the exact system name for your second monitor, which can be found using MAME's verbose output: In the Command Prompt, run MAME with the verbose option: mame64 -v (you can add a game name like mame64 pacman -v for specific testing). MAME will output various configuration details. Look for lines in the "Video" section that list the monitors. They will typically look like \\\\.\\DISPLAY1 and \\\\.\\DISPLAY2. One will be marked as (primary). Note down the full system name for your second monitor (the one you want MAME to use, which is not the primary display). Step 3: Edit the mame.ini File Open the mame.ini file in a text editor (like Notepad). Scroll down to the # OSD PER-WINDOW VIDEO OPTIONS section. Find the line that says screen auto. Change auto to the exact display name you found in Step 2. For example: screen \\\\.\\DISPLAY2 Note: The DISPLAY part is case-sensitive and must be in uppercase. Save the mame.ini file and close the editor. Step 4: Launch MAME I ran the cmd line and found my second monitor is actually named display1 . I editted the ini file in mame and it works ... WHOA! I am rebuilding my arcade cabinet after almost 5 years (a holiday project). Apparently a lot has changed with Launchbox and Im excited to delv into it all again. THANK YOU SO MUCH ... you are gentlemen and a scolar MC
  2. this is what it looks like after I made the change. but still only games can be seen on screen 1
  3. I am running Windows 11 (screen 1), with a gaming cabinet (screen 2). Im also running the latest build of Launchbox / Bigbox Using Mame version .260 and stand alone mame emulator. The games run great and have no trouble with the emulation. The problem I have is when I start Luanchbox it appreas on screen 2. I go to launch a mame game and it will only run on screen 1. Which of the settings do I need to change in the mame.ini file? I tried just changing the screen line with \\\\.\\DISPLAY2, that didnt work. I also tried changing the screen0 line. Am I making the change in the right place -- the ini file, or do I need to change it somewhere else? Is using the stand alone mame emulator correct or should I be funning the one inside retroarch? If so, what is the name of the core for mame.260 Any help would be greatly appreciiated MA
  4. I went into Retroarch and switched on overlays and it seems to work now ... Sorry for the bother. Im sure Ill have other questions as I continue the build. Thank you
  5. I started a new build of Launchbox (It's been a while since I did this) and I'm trying to get the new Bezel feature to work. When importing the ROMS, I choose to download the bezels, but when I run the game, it loads fine, but no bezels show up. I've tried this on Nintendo and Super Nintendo. Both with the same result. Its a bit of a headscratcher, as I don't see being able to do this wrong LOL ... Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. EB
  6. Thanks so much for getting back to me. 1 & 2 I have figured out, although when I go to set up Launchbox, and update or change the themes, I get an error stating there was a problem with the download / update. Is this on your end or mine? Cant seem to figure it out. 3. Yes, I placed all my games on the exsternal SD Card 4. Mame Im a bit confused with, and perhaps you can help me. Im using a rom set from Mame 244. On my Desktop I did download and install the proper MAME version (from the official site) and everything works fine in my arcade cab. Im a bit stumped by what core to use in retroarch for roms from version 244 of Mame. Would you happen to know? And do I need to do anything further once I know the correct core in Retroarch, but to point to the directory where the mame roms are through Launchbox? Your assistance is greatly appreciated MA
  7. Good Day All, I just received my AYN Odin Pro in the mail the other day. Seems to be a pretty solid device and looking forward to setting it up. I am a longtime user of the Launchbox for Windows and built an arcade cab around it (which BTW Launchbox / BIGBox is awesome on it). I really have enjoyed working with Launchbox and BigBox for several years. I think I have watched every single video that ETA prime has been involved with. VERY helpful. The obvious choice for the front end on Android for me is again Launchbox / BigBox. Im planning on using Retroarch on the backend, or should I say Retroarch Plus for the emulators. I will more than likely use standalone versions of Dolphin, PS2 and Citra emulators... So I have a few questions and could use some advice on the setup: 1. Is Launchbox for android an apk r is it available in the store? 2. Same structure as my Windows machine? All emulators installed inside my Launchbox directory on my device? 3. I want to install my games on my 512 micro SD card, correct? 4. What is the best MAME emulator for android? I am running 244 on my Windows setup. Thanks so much in advance for any help you can give and looking forward to setting up the Android version of Launchbox / Bigbox on my new hand held. MA
  8. Good afternoon ... Happy holidays to those celebrating. I am using the (new) default theme, and when I go into the system menu, I can set a custom view in any of the "show" (show playlists, show platforms etc.) categories areas. When I go into the genres category, I am not able to bring up the view menu to change it to any of the vertical, horizontal wheels etc. This seems to be the only area where I cannot set the view I want. Is there not a ability for a custom view in the default theme for show genres? Thanks and I hope everybody enjoys the rest of their holiday. MC
  9. @retro808 You are a genius! Thank you so much! I did refresh the image cache, but it was for the theme. So close LOL ... Thank you again so much for your help! Its greatly appreciated more than you know! Have a GREAT evening! MA
  10. I created a custom clear logo for a Street Fighter Collection. I intend to make it a playlist logo. I have also, within Launchbox, when editing the playlist, checked the box that says "Show this playlist in platform View" Im using the default (new theme) as my platform theme, and also have selected "Remember theme specific settings (as Im using different themes for different views). I placed the custom created clear logo in images/ playlists/street fighter collection / clear logos/ street fighter collection.png In launchbox I selected edit under playlists for street fighter collection and added the clear logo image I started up Big Box and when viewing the platforms I only get the text on the platform Street Fighter Collection platform I also have a playlist called favorites, and that platform shows up in platforms with the correct favorites graphic When launching Big Box and going into Street Fighter Collection under platforms, the custom made clear logo I made DOES show up under the games list view Does the clear logo need to be under a certain file size? A certain demension (although I did use the same exact graphic size as the Favorites clear logo) Im a little stumped as to why my custom clear logo isnt showing up but the favorites clear logo is when viewing platforms, and my custom made clear logo shows up in game list view inside platforms I also place my custom made clear logo in the clear logos directory for the default theme Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. MA
  11. Ok, I figured it out ... I had another monitor improperly configured. I pulled that monitor off the system and Big Box Launched. UGH ... Sometimes Im not the sharpest tack in the box.
  12. Thanks Neil. I did try alt tab and select the Big Box window, but it just stays minimized. All other programs and windows are functioning as they should (including Launchbox).
  13. Hey All! I'm brand new here ... Just got Launchbox set up and imported my first SNES game! Boo-Yah! I go to launch Big Box, it initiates and then is Minimized. I see it in my windows task bar. Run over it with my mouse and get the preview, but when I click it, it will not run full screen. I must be missing something simple or a setting in either launchbox or Big Box. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Have a great day! EB
