Bunch of Errors
SPARTAN117N01 replied to SPARTAN117N01's topic in LaunchBox for Windows Custom Themes
Well, I've tried a few things and the one that worked but might not be for everyone is to move the LaunchBox folder to another drive. I moved my install to a new drive I ordered. Not sure what is different about it. I have tried this on the exact same model that I already own with the same formatting. ?♂️ -

Well, the folders are revering to a black square instead of a check mark. How does LaunchBox go about loading themes and such? I have some custom badges that are working perfectly. The content in question is Simple White Badges. -

Can you clarify" We'd receive a IOException trying to delete anything in that folder marked read-only."? -

Well, I made sure it was a check mark and not a box... the contents of the folder a keeping even when LB is closed but the errors still pop up. I'm going to add an exception to my security for LB and see what happens on that front. -

The symlink folders (all of them) disappear when LB is closed but I did copy the LBThemes folder to the core folder (it was already marked as read only). The errors still pop up... Something to note is that after setting it back to default and closing LB the "LBThemes" folder remains in the core directory but it's empty. Ideas? -

That brings in an interesting question... could it be my security software? -

See image for installed software. As for the folder see 2nd image; and just to cross it off the list, I've uploaded a 3rd image that shows my account on this system is Administrator. -

I should be good then. I don't understand why I'm getting this error... I've installed LaunchBox dozens of times on multiple systems and have had it on this system in the past. I did a clean install of Windows 10 a few weeks back (again I've done this a dozen times over) and after installing the necessary software I added LaunchBox and here we are with this issue. I can give a list of the software I have installed but I don't think this too be the issue as I've used this software in the past with other LaunchBox installs. -

I mean this... After I hit apply and reopen the folders properties to double check and it's back to "read only". I edit a lot of ini files and have set "read only" dozens of times and this is the first time I've ever seen this behavior. I turned on Debug Logging. Here is that file... not sure if it will help. It is read only but it keeps re-setting itself to read only. -

Okay, now I have a problem with broken symlinks (Shortcuts); I went in and checked the folders and they all were marked as "Read Only", I deleted them and relaunched LaunchBox and no they are shortcuts and are read only. If I close down launchbox the symlink folders disappear but return when the program launches. The errors are still present and the symlinks are still present as well; along with read only. -

Hate to bust your bubble but my drive format is NFTS (All of them). Note: I've attached a pic of my drive properties for which LaunchBox is installed. Also, I checked on the folders inside of Core and they are actual folders. -

It is installed on my 2nd Internal SSD (4TB); Not sure if the size of the drive matters. I've also tried to install it on my 3rd Internal HDD (6TB) and on an External HDD (28TB); I have not tried one of my NVME 2TB Drives but I'm assuming it wouldn't matter. I've also tried other themes both LaunchBox and BigBox = same error... In fact, it even happens with the other built in LaunchBox Theme "Old Default" and BigBox Theme "CriticalZoneV2 - Default". I have not tried v11.15 of LaunchBox but the last 3 revisions had the same error so (I'm again) going to assume it will still happen. I'm also running WIN10 21H2 - OS Build 19044.1151 -

I've literally removed every last trace of LB from my system and reinstalled it only to get the same issue. I'm going to just stick with the defaults for everything... Lost my patience with this already. Thanks everyone for the help. Update: Error is still present on v11.14; I've decided to stick with the defaults. Update 2: This extends to Bigbox as well... I've tried both manually installing themes (doesn't matter which) and using the built-in system to download and install themes. Big box is worse because the errors will continue to pop up after they are closed. -

I meant the custom badges you can download from here. Update: Just downloaded and installed the latest version (11.13) and the issue is still occurring. -

The theme in question is Neon Deluxe Arcade - LaunchBox Theme. Note: I have not tried other themes or Big Box yet; I have customized Icons and pause / start up screens. -
I have used this theme in the past and never had this issue until recently; I'm setting up LaunchBox on a new system with a clean install of Win10 and once I switch to this theme all this pops up. See pictures. I've reinstalled LaunchBox and redownloaded this theme several times; I see no mention of other software requirements. I've moved the entire LaunchBox install to different drives (HDD and SSD) = Same issue each time. Honestly, it's gotten to be frustrating. Any help would be appreciated. PS: I've installed the two font files. I tried reading the messages to ascertain a solution but I can't make heads or tails of the errors.
