when scrolling the wheel you might want to add the option to turn off the selected game video audio as the video is hidden i instinctively keep looking for a video not there, just a thought.

Yes, I know. But I think I can't do nothing for this. The wheel is code as a overlay, not a seperate view. That's why video turn in background, unless a new video was load. I make some research !

Looks like this is fixed in recent releases of the theme, at least with platforms. Now, when you scroll away, the video stops playing even if a new one hasn't started yet (ie you can't hear the audio continuing in the background anymore). However, the problem remains once you're within a platform and are browsing through games (ie a video starts, and doesn't stop even through the user is now scrolling between games. You can still hear the audio, until a new video starts playing). I'd love to see the issue fixed in the game view as well!

    Amazing work as always!

  2. I've downloaded a new app to my phone which I wish to be added to Launchbox. However, it only automatically finds it when I select "Include Non-Game Android Apps". I don't want to do this, since I only want this one specific app added, and don't want to have to delete every single other app I have that is auto added to launchbox (either upon changing the setting, or going forward).

I have tried using the "Add Game" function, but since apps cannot be found in the internal storage, I cannot manually add it. I know what the launch path should be - com.direwolfdigital.root - but I can't add this because it doesn't allow a typed path, only one found by browsing the internal storage. I even tried editing the xml file found in Platforms to add the game and it's path. This didn't work either.

I feel like this should be a day-one, obvious feature, but I can't find it anywhere. Can anyone help?

  3. Found the solution: the platform had not imported the scrap as name from my Windows Launchbox (Sony PSP), only my custom Title (PSP). Therefore PPSSPP didn't come up as a suggested emulator, and I had to manually add it (which for whatever reason didn't work - see above). However, inputting the correct Scrape As name in the app meant that PPSSPP did come up as suggested and, selecting this, worked perfectly.

  4. I've seen some conflicting statements. Does the standalone PPSSPP app work with Launchbox on Android 13? I'm getting the error pictured, but launching the ROM direct from the app works perfectly. I'm using this configuration:

    Package: org.ppsspp.ppsspp

    Activity: org.ppsspp.ppsspp.PpssppActivity

    File path key: org.ppsspp.ppsspp.Shortcuts

  5. I love that Launchbox now has a playtime function, but it would be even better if it showed (as much as possible) the true playtime of a game rather than the time played since they added the feature. One small way to do this would be to have the Epic Games import function also bring in playtime, just as it does with Steam. Alternatively, Launchbox could just allow me to manually edit my playtime so I can just line up the real playtime to Launchbox's, and not have to think about it again after that.

  6. Okay I found that setting the emulator as NOT citra.exe but instead the citra-qt.exe and changing the settings in the config file (C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Citra\config) worked.

Hi ! Each time i open a game with citra via launchbox, it open the cmd command !

and When i copy this in hotkey  in emulator citra, there it put cittra AND CMD command in fullscreen

do you know how to get off the cmd command ?

This is my exact problem @Peichan2 - did you manage to solve it?

Apologies on rezing an old thread but it seems this problem still exists.

A similar and possibly related problem (perhaps it may point toward a different method for finding a solution? I perhaps it complicates things further) is that downloading EmuMovies gameplay via Tools -> Download Media -> Update Metadata and Media for All Games doesn't really work, even when EmuMovies finds gameplay when editing games individually. For example, Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U has high quality gameplay, but selecting all games and using the Update Metadata and Media for All Games method and checking Video - Gameplay (High Quality), does not download any videos for Mario Kart 8, or indeed most games that have Gameplay (High Quality) when searched individually.

Best I make a new thread for this then? Or could it plausibly be the 'same' problem?

OK, your rom is very badly named, you have a number at the start of it, so Launchbox is looking for the game "1965 - Pokemon Fire Red (U)(Independent)" and there is no such game as that, so if finds no metadata, which is why renaming it worked. That looks like it might be from a "GoodRoms" set, unfortunately those sets are far from what the name implies. Any information that is not the actual game name should always be bracketed, the info at the end of the file name is, but that start with the numbers and hyphen are your issue.

I'm afraid changing the name of the ROM has no effect on the options presented to me when searching for media. Either with Fire Red which presents some amount of media (more with the metadata name suggested by C-Beats, and only the Cart - Front when using the name provided by searching for metadata on Launchbox's DB - see my screenshots in above) or with Heartgold, which gives me no EmuMovies media with any name I have tried so far.

Care to take a snap of your metadata page for me?

Sure - thanks for sticking with this! (This is having altered the name from the one given by the LaunchboxDB - Pokémon FireRed Version - to the one you suggested - Pokemon: FireRed Version, but I've changed nothing else from what is provided by clicking 'Search for Metadata' and choosing the correct game.)

  12. For example, experiencing a similar problem with Pokémon HeartGold, I've tried the names: Pokémon HeartGold; Pokémon HeartGold Version, Pokemon HeartGold, Pokemon HeartGold Version. And none of those find a game on EmuMovies. It could take a very long time if I have to trial and error every game that has this problem.

  13. (Partial) success! The media download now looks like this, even though it still displays less than our friend niel9000's above. I guess two questions then: 1) is there any general fix for when a game doesn't find any video from EmuMovies other than messing around for a while with the name of the game and trying various versions of it (this might take a very very long time if I have to do it for 10s - not to much others who have 100s - of games, and would probably require me to check via their website whether EmuMovies *ought* to be finding a video for each game I'm struggling with so I know I'm not doing all the trial-and-error in vain)? And 2) Is this therefore a problem with Launchbox's metadata database, that it provides one name and EmuMovies requires a different one? Surely it would be preferable for the database to automatically provide a name that EmuMovies reads properly?

  14. Could you explain what you mean by 'verify' the names?

I have checked that the name of the platform (in this case Nintendo Game Boy Advance but I'm having the same problem with my DS games) is the same as the one that is selected from the dropdown box of Scrape As. I'm not using a non-standard name. The name of the game (in this case Pokémon FireRed Version but I also have this problem with games on the DS) is the same as the name given by Launchbox's database when I search for metadata, so I'm not using a non-standard name for that either.

If this is what you mean by verify, then I have done so and nothing seems to explain the problem, which is that I cannot seem to fetch a full list of media from EmuMovies (particularly video snaps).

  15. Yes that's precisely what I'm saying - there's a problem fetching media (particulary video snaps) from EmuMovies despite me having a Lifetime Supporter subscription. I wondered if you had any thoughts about the cause of the problem and any possible solutions - thanks!

  16. Ah I see that makes sense. Although I do have a similar problem with other games, for example in the case below where EmuMovies can't find a Video Snap for Fire Red despite the existence of an extensive GBA video collection (this time official) on EmuMovies website (here - https://emumovies.com/files/file/2663-game-boy-advance-video-snaps-pack-sq/). Given that it was last updated 2018 it'd be very disappointing if it was not available through their API...
