yes i have done that. It says when i start it up that the core override has been loaded but still all my mapped n64 settings have been reset to default

Hi everyone, Was wondering if someone could help me? I have been trying to get my n64 controller to work on retroarch, which i have mostly done but everytime i close out of retroarch my setting default to there original settings. I have put this down to retroarch not saving the configuration on exit, even though it is set to save. I have also tryed to manually save the configuration but keep getting the error "failed to save to" Users/User/LaunchBox/Emulators/RetroArch/retroach.cfg It would help a ton if someone could help me get my configuration to save
