Close LaunchBox. Then navigate to your \\LaunchBox\Updates folder and find the installer in there. Then manually run the installer over your install (make sure you don't create a \\LaunchBox\LaunchBox directory when doing so) and you should be good to go.

I've tried this before, tried running it out of the update folder as administrator and nothing happens. I do have windows 11.

Define "won't update". Do you get an error while the installer is running? Is the installer running then opening to the wrong version?

I launch launchbox, it tells me a new update is available and asks me if I would like to install, then if I click yes it closes out of launchbox, and nothing happens.

Also how do you have updates set to run? Do you have the option for "Automatically Download Updates in the Background" on? I have seen that option on some of my cabinets be quirky. So I turned it off and never had update issues.

I have the option set "Automatically download updates in the background" basically what happens is when I launch launchbox it tells me a new update is available. Then asks me if I would like to install, if I click yes it closes out of launchbox and does nothing. I will turn the auto update off and see how it goes manually on the next update.  - PS I do not get any errors just nothing happens when I click install.  - Thank you for your advice

  4. Can anyone help me figure out why my launchbox won't update? I own licensed copy. I understand that it updates for some people and telling me it works for you without offering advice does not help. Also Rockstar games break launchbox, and do not work with controller commands.  - What happens, launchbox asks me if I would like to update, it closes its self out and nothing happens. Rockstar just interrupts Fullscreen sessions and have to physically close it out each time.

That's quite the hyperbole but if you really want a refund email support@unbrokensoftware and request one.

ITs not an exaggerated statement, the point of big box is to have a couch experience. When you have to physically put the controller down to close out of the launchers, I think thats vailid. I am just going to go public with this on youtube and share how bad this is if this forum os toxic like this

  6. Can anyone tell me why my update won't install when launchbox asks if I would like to uipdate? Its getting really old having to download a new launchbox then copy over files because it doesn't work. I have it on my allow list. And secondly, I am sadly disappointed with big box. Is there any way to request a refund? Its so broken on rockstar / ubisoft.

I'm not sure why the auto-updater would be failing, but you can always just manually download the latest version and install over top if you need to. It won't overwrite any of your settings or games. Just make sure that you install to the proper folder (and not a LaunchBox\LaunchBox folder), because the installer can be slightly confusing in that regard.

So there is a problem with this method, my file paths were saving to the original paths I had set up when I first installed this. I changed this and had it functioning before the update. THen after the "update" even with reinstalling over and even changing the paths the new file paths would revert. I had to clean the registry to fix lauchbox, copied my data folder over and my license before doing this and was able to restore my settings. I think its launchbox.

So could be a interrupted and therefore unfinished download. I'd close Launchbox and delete that update file, then re-open Launchbox and let it download again and see if that works.

I tried this, deleted the file redownloaded that did not do it. I also went and changed all the permissions to full access on the update its self/launchbox.

  9. I have the premium version of launchbox/bigbox. When I launch bigbox it says an update has downloaded and is ready to install with a yes or no option, I click yes, it quits out, the loading wheel spins for a second and nothing happens. I have version 12.11

And it can stay there, its terrible, and a complete scam.

I agree, the size scaling is all off, car feels huge next to certain buildings. I fixed my problem by uninstalling it all and just reinstalled my classic versions of GTA from steam. Set up mods for ginput, widescreen fix and good enough for me with 60 fps limit

Wrong, their games still get pirated left and right day 1 or even before. They use their own shitty storefront so they don't have to share part of the profit with Steam (or whatever).

There is a way, mod your game exe's to be able to launch without Social Club.

I would love to know how to mod this to stop social club. I hate social club with a passion.

  13. I bought the definitive remastered GTA series which forces me to use social club. The problem: Rockstar social club turns into a white block when switching between games, on both exclusive full screen and borderless. This issue is intermittent. No matter what settings I've set in social club this still happens, mind you social club only has 3 options. I've set social club to minimize to system tray when launching games, but when launching the .exe game from install directory it still pops up social club. I found a forum where someone set up battle.net games with a bunch of commands to click the play button on each game, I am wondering if there is something similar. If not I would love to see support for this terrible platform of social club, I wish there was a way to remove it entirely but then can't play my games. If there is a way to remove it and play my games still i would love to but pretty sure thats how they make sure the games aren't pirated. Any help on this is appreciated

  14. Windows 11 does not have thick clients for these streaming services, but you can go to any website and save it as an application.

I am wondering if there is a way to use this feature in bigbox so I could have a home theatre experience. I looked into Kodi but not sure what it does since all youtube videos make it look like you need your own video library's.

Even getting the web installed app for example HBO max to launch through launchb box / big box you cannot type because of no on screen keyboard to search with.

Can someone tell me more about kodi and my options to add TV streaming services to big box / launch box?

One additional tiny question, fall out new vegas has a start launcher that makes you select your graphics ect with a mouse, is there a way to bypass that launcher? Would like to just click play

  15. Yeah putting them into exclusive full screen and setting task bar to hide fixed the ubisoft, (exclusive alone was still showing task bar with ubi games). Steam they launch perfect, and rockstar social club... that's a mess. It intermittent breaks on the social club app, and there are only 3 settings social club has to apply which is extremely limited. but I only have the remastered gta bundle with them so its only 3 games I guess I can live with that. It still functions, just gotta wait for the exe file to "click" on the social club "play button".

As Windows games do not use emulators (obviously), you have to set up Startup screens per game. Right click your game > Edit > Edit Metadata/Media > Startup/Pause tab. Tick "Override Default Startup Screen Settings" > click "Customize". Here you can enable and try (a combination of) settings and adjust the duration of the Startup Screen. You can download Startup Themes from here:

    https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/category/31-startup-themes/

Yeah I'm aware that windows don't use emulators lol but wanted the setting as a check mark option if you know what i mean. Ill try modding the metadata, its my ubisoft games that do this from ubisoft connect.

  17. I have set up all my emulators to show to --gui ect with commands ect to start up and shut down nicely and certain emulators have an option to check mark hide all windows that are not in exclusive mode, but I cannot find this option for windows games.  Its really bumming me out there is the huge flashing ubisoft stuff / steam stuff when transitioning from games when everything else is clean like a console experience.

Please tell me there is a way to hide this stuff for windows games, because from what I can tell there is little to no support on windows for this and feeling buyers regret.
