Answering my own question:
From the exodos discord, the exodos launchbox should have a file in eXo/utils/ named FAQread.txt (attached)
The contents are:
Congrats, you've read the FAQ!
I don't know why my non-exodos launchbox was having this problem but I just created eXo/utils directory in Launchbox's root dir,placed that file in there, restarted launchbox and the popup was gone.
That was annoying
