  1. Just as an update (and more importantly, a thank you), I imported a proper rom set last night and everything now works perfectly. I'll try not to go off-piste next time and just do things the proper way!
  2. Thank you for being brutally honest (and for putting a reply out)! That's exactly what I needed. I'd hoped to use a slimmed down set of the arcade games as I used the ones that came on a Kinhank drive, but (like you say) I think it's going to be a lot more trouble than it's worth!
  3. Hi All. This is a noob post so will probably be a howler, but it's driving me nuts so if anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Most of my MAME games wont work / launch. I've noticed that if I right-click them and select 'Play Version' I can normally find one on there that will launch, but when I play the games in MAME or RetroArch outside of LaunchBox (or Big Box) it knows what's available and I can just launch them without any problems. Of course, my first thought is "how can it actually know what ones are working", but then again MAME / RetroArch does. I've attached some screenshots to show my setup for the emulator, but it's a 2003+ rom set and I believe it's set up correctly. I suspect the easy answer to this is to get a proper complete MAME rom set, but this is what I currently have. It just feels like there's a way of making this work, but I'll fall on my sword if that's more hassle than it's worth! Thank you.
  4. That's brilliant, thank you so much @JoeViking245! The games are loading (and running) perfectly. 🙂 I'll need to do the same for the consoles now, as the default RetroArch ones (was default when importing my ROM's) are running terribly on my setup for some reason. It's a Surface Book 2 with a discreet GTX 1050m and an i7-8650U, so I'm expecting (with the right emulators) it will run most things pretty well. Thanks again to you both and I'll trawl through the emulator guides to help me with the rest of the setup. 🙂
  5. Thank you very much for such a swift response! Now you say it I probably imported incorrectly. I selected Tools > Import > ROM Files > Selected Folder > Selected Arcade (fpor the platform) > Etc. I now see there's a separate option for Arcade games i.e. Tools > Import > MAME Arcade Full Set. 😞 However, assuming that's not the end of the world the games have all been imported and I've selected MAME as my emulator. Screenshots attached to (hopefully) show that's configured correctly: Screen 1: Screen 2: However, when I'm in BigBox (or LaunchBox) I try and load the game and it starts to look good, but then never loads and goes back to the game selection screen. I have loaded MAME separately and launched the same game and it loads and runs perfectly. Again, any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I guess I'll need to do this for all the various emulators.
  6. Hi Everyone, Happy New Year 2023! I've just got hold of LaunchBox Premium and have imported all my games, etc. When I imported the Arcade games it suggested I used RetroArch as default, so I went with the suggestion. All my games and associated media have been catalogued perfectly and it looks awesome (especially on BigBox). However, whenever I try and launch a MAME-based game the same game launches regardless of the game I choose. It's actually a cool little game (one where you start with two 2's and you slide them together to make a 4, etc), but it will NOT launch the game I want. I then grabbed hold of the latest copy of MAME and added that as a launch option ... but the same thing happens! I cannot understand what is happening, so if anyone out there can work out what I'm doing that's so stupid I would really appreciate it. I'm all ready to go, but I can't load my Arcade games! Thank you.
