In the Local Security Policy editor, go to Local Policies > User Rights Assignment. 4. Double-click the "Shut down the system" policy in the right-hand pane. 5. Click the "Add User or Group" button. 6. Type your username in the field and click "Check Names" to confirm. 7. Click OK to close the dialog boxes and close the editor.
