Not sure if you ever resolved this, but I just had the same issue and managed to fix it so here you go: Go to Tools > Manage > Emulators... Select Associated Platforms on the left hand side. Find Sega Genesis (I assume you meant this console), and clear the Default Command-Line Parameters. Hit OK and it should work now.
