    I was having the same issue with BlastEm and found another way to fix it. I had to open up "Emulators.xml" in the Data folder. For me, on line 469 (under the second result when you search for "Sega Genesis") is the following code: I just erased the "-auto", saved the .xml, and then everything booted up properly.
