Ok, thanks, but that doesn't explain why it worked fine in retroarch but not in Launchbox. I'll work on getting it correct in retroarch, first.

So I installed RetroArch, didn't like the interface, then installed Launchbox....launchbox see the nes controller as a Genisis something or other controler....RetroArch sees it correctly and it works as expected. I thought It was because I installed RetroArch first then Launchbox, so i wiped the machine and did a fresh Win install installed Launchbox (it installed RetroArch) and I am still getting the same issue. This is a fresh install Windows is still updating, and I have only added a few roms.... I can see where i can change some of the controller mappings (options>game controller>mappings) but I don't see an option for the A & B buttons..... is there a simple solution? I haven't tried to go into RetroArch on this install yet. Also, I have made not modifications or changed any settings, other than to import the Roms. any help would be appreciated Jim
