Thanks I did reinstall directX but the problem persists. I probably need to do a full uninstall and whipe any app data from directx and try again. For now I am up and running with opengl. Thanks

Update. the problem is definitely directx. I tried opening mame.ini and changed video setting from auto to opengl. Now t works. I want to try to fix the directx even though the dxdiag says it is working fine. Obviously you can't find the installer online anywhere...

Hi, I am new and after getting everything working as I like I decided to get the full lifetime license. Then as I kept tinkering I noticed my mame set was not in the games folder (desktop instead) so I wanted to move it. Before moving it I thopught maybe I'd reimport the mame set and figured it would just update the references. But I decided the cancel before doing the import on the last step. This had me reinstall mame during the import. At this point nothing was moved, I simply canceled midway through. I thought nothing had changed. Anyway, I went to run a game and now nothing happens. I then deleted everything and tried again with no luck. I even uninstalled LB a few times and reinstalled it, again no luck. I even deleted the LB folder to where there was nothing but my games folder and license key, reinstalled and when I try launching a game it now says "Now loading ..." and then nothing happens. I tried running the mame from emulator directory via command prompt and I got this message "Unable to create the Direct3D device (8876086C) Unable to initialize Direct3D 9 Fatal error: Unable to complete window creation". I do not know if is because I didn't have any params with the mame.exe file or what. Maybe it is a directx problem? I am baffled what is wrong. Obviously I tried restarting windows a few times too with no luck. My console games still work. Mame games were previously working and I had tested a few to see how the controls were etc. Now nothing. I am to the point of considering a fresh install of windows just to get it working again. Any thoughts or help?
