Grow Up... The Devs do Great Work here. At least it is updated on a Regular Bases, unlike a Lot of front ends out there

They cannot please everybody at the same time, some people will be upset with the way things are going, but in the End, these problems will be sorted.

At the end of the day, if you are not happy, try something else.........

Ah.......... The cliché grow up post! 🤣

You are contributing nothing except stirring the pot and causing friction between users and the development staff.

Here we go again hence why no one wants to put anything on here, If you don't like a point of view that's your issue.........

You trying to tell me others have not confirmed VLC is a complete mess with big box etc?

People are paying good money to use big box so it's an issue that needs to be addressed A.S.A.P!

Is this why you ban ANYONE who speaks not in your favour for example youtube?

No one is "passing the buck". I get an application not working can be frustrating but you making false accusations isn't going to help your cause. I asked because I know my Intel/Nvidia set up has had issues with bad Direct X calls crashing the machine and drivers corrected it on that device. I was offering assistance on things you can verify that may help the situation (and has mine in the past) until you get any additional response/builds from any of the staff.

Like many other things it has been part of long outstanding issues and yet you push update after update with proper internal testing .......... The last update should never have been released you knew it was still in a terrible state yet you went ahead with it anyway (Are the dev's paid to release updates in a monthly time line?)

The twitch streams are proving that at times the work load is beyond some of your dev's pay check!

If you haven't already make sure you're on the latest update for your operating system and your video card drivers are up to date. I've heard of bad GPU interactions causing things like that to happen in the past.

I can confirm it as absolutely zero to do with updated drivers.......... This passing 'the buck' needs to stop!  image.thumb.png.928ca2b4053603cc33f4ed5fc2a7024f.png

are there any further progress updates on version 13.20?
I'm now kinda withholding from installing it after reading about these issues.

Totally agree, They knew that last update before it got pushed out as "stable" had severe issues and went ahead.... Shocking dev management! 👎

With all due respect we understand there is some frustration. Please keep to the topic of this thread as requested by one of our staff. Additionally keep things professional and respectful.

Any more posts not related to beta testing of new features or arrival of new issues will be deleted going forward.

It was respectful but clearly in this totalitarian forum environment as per mods seem to have a different point of view on what 'respectful' means........ This is why i very rarely post on this and I was one of the very first to use the forums before this new order! 👌

Look out for a performance FAQ that will be out later today which will educate and explain how users can reliably post feedback about a specific issue and get helpful answers.

Outside of that, let's keep this thread specific to the beta changes, as there's some very specific infrastructure changes in this beta that could have affected things we weren't anticipating that we'd love to catch during these beta rounds.

Thanks for anyone willing to help test.

All due respect you can't pull this old chest nut to deflect away from the fact the program is very power hungry on resources and needs optimised!

  9. Yeah having all these quirky features are great but why are you not tackling the most basic of bugs etc that have plagued this frontend for the longest time as Wally said it needs to be optimised more than anything (I have a pretty beefy PC rig before anyone claims I need a better one) and even with the vast amount of people constantly testing these beta's the end product ends up still being a mess..... Then we have to sit and watch videos of the newest release being the best thing since slice bread when in fact it's not (we all know who does the videos claiming this)

I checked the code and the way that it's implemented means you'd have to alter multiple points in the code for it to work properly. If you'd like, you can PM me and I can try and work through it with you when I get some time.

It's recommended to download this theme from within LaunchBox itself using the Manage LaunchBox Theme's window.

The way the forums work is that I don't put Big Details in a folder within a folder. What users usually do is get the zip program to extract into a new folder not realizing it's already in a folder itself, which causes the confusion for a percentage of users that don't realize it's doing that. There may also be issues with needing to unblock the file (and its contents itself). Both are common things users do need to learn when dealing with downloading theme files here, or just downloading certain files from the internet. It's why it's easier to recommend to get it from within LaunchBox :)

I did not know that was a function within launchbox so thanks for the quick reply

  11. the installation process of having a folder within in a folder in the .zip could be deterring people from using this... I had to look through this forum thread in order to get it to work, I tried to use this a good while back and thought it was broken!

  12. Doesn't exist that xml but the attitude when approached was appalling was totally unnecessary and to use an excuse of other programs have issues is not an answer.... it needs a QOL overhaul and stick to it's main premise to being a launcher so many issues like scraping Arcade/MAME also missing media then the CHD'S are in a platform of it's own why is it not automatically added to Arcade/MAME or even simple options to see broken/hidden games so we can check if the emulators have said games running.... Also removing a platform but............ then you have to remove each individual playlist with said platform... p.s Neil does just sit around discords and forums and has been extremely unpleasant to deal with in them too!

  13. what?????????????? I wanted almost two hours last night and like i said launchbox has a team and you clearly haven't seen the other posts cause you're not a team member you just lurk about discords and forums.... What is the big deal in using 3rd party apps to post images for ease of use and convenience??????? These issues started with the issues with emu movies and i shall get the log but where is it???

    3. I try to scrape from launchbox & emu movies (As of now I can't get by parsing mame update)

    4. next time error appears i'll post the screenshot and neil9000 all due respect that's what beta versions are for and the members of the team should be testing before being passed for the main release hence the hotfix recently!
