  1. The themes included in the collection addon don't seem to carry over to the game details screen unlike the rest of themes in Refried. For example, the Super Mario collection works but once selecting a game and being brought to the game details screen, it turns into the platform specific theme. Is there a way to change this so it stays consistent? Thanks.

  2. Yes, similar to how Unified works where the playlists can have a different background for the game selection screen that it pulls from /images/background. I don't have any game specific backgrounds as of right now so right now the game selection view inside playlists show the fanart for the parent platform.

  3. How hard would it be to enable playlist specific background fanart when browsing through games inside a playlist? As it is right now playlist fanart only show on the platforms list, not the games view itself. Any help is appreciated.

  4. Thanks so much for the update, this theme is perfect for my setup. The last thing I was wondering is if it would be possible to display the number of games below the platform logos along with the year, similar to how emulationstation displays "100 Available Games" under the system name.

  5. Hey Viking, I know this is an old theme of yours but I noticed that in games view #2 the light grey bar along the bottom screen blocks the sort by letter ui that appears when you press left or right to jump to a certain letter. Is there anyway to remove that grey bar in the config somewhere?

I'll take a look at the code and see if this would be easy to add. I'm wrapping things up for release, so I'm hesitant to add too much more new stuff, but I'll take a look. :)

Awesome! I think it would be a nice feature especially considering how popular the playlists feature is becoming.

  7. Hey Viking, these arcade banners are perfect for my arcade classics playlists (data east classics, midway classics, etc.). The only ones I'm missing are:

    • Atari Classics (arcade not atari 2600)
    • Capcom Classics
    • Namco Classics
    • Nintendo Classics
    • SNK Classics
    • Williams Classics

Would you be willing to make these in the same style as your Midway and Data East arcade banners?

  8. Would it be possible to have the playlists view in Bigbox be different than the platforms view? For example: in playlists view, hide recent games, favorite games, and number of games. I know the ability to have separate views based on which platform you are in was added recently, I was wondering if the same could be done between platforms and playlists.

  9. Hey Viking, awesome job. Would you be up for making wheels for:

    • SNES Top 100
    • NES Top 100
    • Genesis Top 100

My idea was to have playlists for these and use gamefaq's top 100 list for different systems. I'm not sure what kind of style they would have, but it'd be cool to have a Playchoice 10 style feel to them.

I'm guessing that it happens even if a video is paused. We noticed recently that VLC still does a lot of its processing while paused, so that might be it. Does it happen if you switch to using Windows Media Player as the video playback engine?

Hi Jason. Just tested again with Windows Media Player set as the playback engine and the same issue occurs. Just to clarify I attached my platform view below to explain what I was talking about. You mentioned that it most likely has to do with either a video playing or a paused video, but in my setup there is no video at all. I use the platform view without any videos, just images. Thanks again for your help.

Thank you @johnugamer; yes I did see that. I believe that is being caused by VLC. Unfortunately I won't be fixing that one for 7.5; the issue is that as long as there is a video running, it's likely to prevent your computer from sleeping. Most video games won't allow your computer to sleep either. I don't consider this really a bug, though I do understand how it's annoying. The only way I can figure to fix it would be to time out after a while and stop playing all videos.

Thanks for responding so quickly. The weird thing is that Big Box will prevent sleep even if I'm on something like the platforms menu, where the view I use doesn't even have have any videos or background video playing.

  12. Issue:

One of the newer LaunchBox/BigBox updates has prevented my computer sleeping while BigBox is running. I believe it has to do with the recent implementation of background music in BigBox. I have diagnosed the problem further and have found that BigBox seems to be outputting an audio stream even though I have background music disabled and do not have any video or audio playing in BigBox.

    Steps taken:

I used the cmd command "powercfg -requests" to figure out that a audio stream is currently "in-use" that is preventing the computer from sleeping. Closing BigBox solves the problem which tells me it is a problem lying somewhere in BigBox. Putting a "powercfg -requestsoverride" in on my audio driver solves the issue but is not an ideal fix because the computer will sleep even if I am listening to music in something like Kodi. If anyone can test this out for themselves or offer some help it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

*Edit* I have tested this issue on a separate computer with Windows 10 and the same problem persists, so I know the issue isn't a result of something weird on my arcade computer.

  13. So I tested your theme and it looks awesome, but I noticed some differences from your demo video. When I apply your theme is doesn't turn off the 70% background darkening and also doesn't change the transition effect of the background like shown in the demo. Is this normal?
