Hello.

Having some a little trouble getting my Japanese Sega CD games to run using retroarch.

The US games boot just fine using retroarch with the Pico and GX cores.  I assume that it has to do with using a Japanese bios. How do I associate a bios for just the Japanese games? Should I just add them as a different console separate from the US Sega CD? And do I need to use a different core for the Japanese games? is there a universal bios for all region Sega CD games?

I am trying to get Atomiswave running in Launchbox and I am having a problem.

I've changed the retroarch core to use the flycast core in associated platforms with no luck. When I run the ROM in retroarch itself it works fine. I'm sure its a super easy fix, but I can't figure it out.

Hello,

Do I need to have my zipped CD rom games unzipped in order to play they using RetroArch? Its going to get messy in my roms folder with all of them unzipped. Any ideas on organizing them? Also, where should the bios file be? I currently have it in the system folder for RetroArch.

So, I've obtained a Merged 0.188 MAME set (ROMS & CHDs)  and I need to split em. I've noticed some games for example "Commando" combining other games named commando together . Is clrmamepro the best way to work this out? Do I need to also split the CHD files? Right now I have ROMS and CHD files in separate folders. Should I just combine them and split em together with clrmamepro? Also, If I delete all the games from my LB and re-import the split set will the media I've already downloaded still assign correctly?

Oh! Its a mess alright lol. Thanks for the advice. I do remember reading a post somewhere that said that you could use CLRmamepro. just not sure how to use it for that function.

Would anyone have some advice or tips on separating a large set of Arcade ROMS/CHDs by systems? I have Sega model 1,2&3 mixed in with other arcade ROMS that I would like to import into LauncBox.

I ran CLRmamepro's un-merge feature to split my Merged .177 set as suggested. I imported my games prioritizing North American ROMS, waited 12Hrs for all the artwork and metadata to update. I'm now missing particular roms (Double Dragon for example) in launchBox but have the SNK fighting game "Double Dragon". I checked the set for the North American rom ddragonu.7z and its in the set but did not import. Did I need to import Bootlegs as well? any suggestions? When I imported my merged set previously it did import double dragon, only that it was the Japanese ver. of the rom and the art work was incorrect, this was easily fixed though.

Thanks for the reply. just noticed another game that is missing the English version, Double Dragon. I think I somehow got rid of my bootlegs when I scanned/rebuilt my merged set using CLRmamepro

Figured it out

Apparently I did not have the English bootleg. pointed Launchbox in the right direction and I got it working. Should I have imported it into Launchbox instead of just changing the ROM path though?

Hello everyone!

LaunchBox is using the Japanese ROM for some of my games, for example Wonder Boy in Monster Land. I know I have all variants of the rom but not sure how to default Launchbox to use the english one. My sets are Merged. Is there a way to get Launchbox to use specific roms or even bootlegs that I want it to use?

How would someone separate a large folder of mame roms by systems (Sega model 2, Neo Geo Sega model 3 ect.) into folders? Is there a suggested program that could help me accomplish this?
