This is not a guideline, but rather what I would recommend myself:

    File Size:
There is a limit in size. You can't upload files too big, the system will give you an error when trying to do so or if the file format is wrong.

    File Quantity:
That Limit is probably just common sense. 2-6 Gameplay screenshots sounds like a good number to me - I usually just upload the title screenshot and 1-2 gameplay images, especially if one screenshot can be 5Mb. I don't think many would want to see their HD filled up too quickly :D

I wouldn't add more screenshot images where there are screenshot images already. But you can always try to submit a replacement to existing ones if you have for example a higher quality one, or with the correct aspect ratio expected for the platform. Or replace one that has a watermark (which is against the database rules).

Thank you for wanting to contribute! It would be great having more media especially for PC games, looking forward to it :)

Thanks for all! Yes with the quantity I was thinking on that number based on the already existing images, I was more worried about the size. And I will try replacing the images if they are low res, almost everything I have is 1080p, 1440p or 4K.

One other thing to consider is the platform. Many people want screenshots in the original resolution the system offered. So while that doesn't really limit you for windows games much, for other systems it could.

Personally i would want the highest quality images available. I run on a 4K screen so depending on how Launchbox/Bigbox themes display the images a for example snes 240p image doesnt look great if a theme uses large screenshots.

    Just a personal preference though.

Both cases makes sense to me, I guess I should upload only a few of the images like the examples in the spoiler and leave the existing ones.

  2. Hi, I usually take lot of screenshots of the games I play and wanted to contribute to the database with them. My question is if there is a limit in size or quantity. Lots of them are in 4k and can take more than 5 mb each, and for some games I have over a dozen. 95% of them are PC games but I also have some high resolution screenshots of emulated games.

  3. I've found a small visual glitch in the name of the games of the new theme. This has been here since the theme was released but I was waiting until having time to test it in a clean install.

I attached the images that show how some labels are correctly rendered (Cruis'n USA) but others look blurred (Top Gear). I also added a zoomed image with both texts side by side so you can easily see the differences. This difference in rendering seems to depend on the row.

Yes, I do that currently, per platform...some of them taking forever to load, then a change is made and it has to be re-loaded again...so I was just hoping for way to load the collection like we do with "HIDE ALL FRONT COVERS", but that's okay, thanks.

I agree that the audit screen takes forever to load, but I don't get what do you mean with reloading again. I had used the audit several times for the same thing plus removing duplicated covers and such, but never had to reload the audit (unless I close the screen of course). I simply sort by the column I want, open the edit screen from within audit and when I confirm the changes the audit gets updated instantly.

Did you use the same data as you had before?

Edit: I'm just curious was resolved the issue.

Not related to launchbox but I had experienced the same issue with other apps at work. I have a laptop 1080p and a 900p monitor connected to it. Quip and Musicbee are the two apps that from time to time do the same, it looks like that "cut" on the window is at the size of the smaller screen resolution, that means that it only shows up on the 1080p, if the window is wider than 1600px or higher than 900px, if I make it smaller it renders ok.

Maybe it's not related, but it can help to find the issue.

Edit: I got curious and did some testing at work. I couldn't replicate that behavior but something similar.pixel.thumb.jpg.d9b7c8b8a10d1e33d45ac46a52c682af.jpgTo the left is my 900p screen and to the right the 1080p with Launchbox maximized. If Launchbox launches? in the 1080p screen, it works as expected in both screen, but if it launches in the 900p when I maximize the window on the higher resolution screen, then the window present the "cut" to the right and at the bottom, and it even occupies the whole screen including the taskbar.

  6. Hi! I been trying to update to 8.4 but the download speed is extremely slow. After 2,5 hours the update was at 60%. First I though it was a firewall issue, but nope. Then I tried to download a new installer but it would take up to 6hrs.

Screenshot_3.thumb.jpg.64960e7b44f14d4267dcb69dca3cc7d0.jpgHere are my SpeedTest results. Nothing else in my system seems affected by the slow downloads. I'm from Argentina.

Anybody has a similar problem? Maybe the server doesn't like my country anymore? ?

    Thanks!
