Can't access menu in Big Box mode

When I start big box mode, I am able to scroll through the systems and games but hitting escape does not take me to the menu of big box mode. My controller isn't doing anything either. I tried deleting the big box settings xml and that didn't do the trick. I also reran the installer again installing over my existing directory. Any advice?

I was able to fix it. I needed to set Big Box mode to run as admin.
