LaunchBox (Big Box) + LED Blinky + ServoStik

Hi.

I'm new to LaunchBox (previously using HyperSpin) and I'm trying to get everything set up correctly.

My current issue is that my ServoStik isn't changing from 4 to 8 (and 8 to 4) when the appropriate game loads in MAME.

I've searched the forums and have seen several suggestions such as compiling a AHK script as well as creating a batch file.

Is this still necessary for LaunchBox?

I know that you can now set up LED Blinky in LB which I have done.  The lights appear to be working correctly.

Also, in LED Blinky, there is a section to set up control of the ServoStik which was working in HyperSpin.  Does LaunchBox not send the necessary information to LED Blinky at the time the game starts in order for this to work?

I've also seen mention of going into each game and setting up 8 vs 4 way controls but I'm also confused by that - it's my understanding that LED Blinky will read the controls.ini file, determine whether the game is 4 vs 8 and automatically adjust the joystick.

Does this functionality not work when using LaunchBox?  The functionality seems built into LED Blinky, so I'm confused why people are having to set this up manually in LaunchBox.

Sorry for all the questions - I'm just trying to determine where compatibility is currently between LaunchBox, LED Blinky, and ServoStik.

Thanks

Okay, finally some good craziness - right after typing the above the switching between 4 and 8 started working.  NO idea why it wasn't before, but it seems to be working now.

I'm leaving the question, however, because I'm still curious why other methods are being used other than the built in LED Blinky functionality.  Are the other methods more reliable?

Thanks again. :)
