Is there a way to disable or lock the bottom right thumbnail resize slider?

Is there a way to disable or lock the bottom right thumbnail resize slider? Accidental clicks will cause my pc to rebuild the thumbnails which takes a bit of time. I was wondering if there was a way to get rid of the slider or at least lock the aspect ratio so that clicking on the bar doesn't do anything.
