Bluejeanjedi
Hey everyone! It's been a fun few months creating my first emulator console. The forums have been a lot of help, so thanks! Now I'm looking to start Version 2, and I'm wanting to up my computer power. So I'm here looking for suggestions! Here's what I started with for version 1: Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p (Tiny); i7-4765T; 8gb RAM; 750 GB (non-SSD); onboard GPU (Intel 4600 I'd like to upgrade to a better machine. I want to keep the small(ish) form, though it doesn't have to be a small as a mini. Something that keeps the general dimensions of a modern console. I'd like it to have at least near 2TB of hard drive space (I'm ok if it's not SSD) and a GPU with some heft. I'm not looking to run the latest/greatest PC games at max settings, but something that will allow me to mess with Gamecube, Dreamcast, N64, and the like's resolutions (which I did a little, but the onboard Intel 4600 couldn't handle much). A cursory search finds modern builds around $1000+, but I'm not looking for a modern beast, just something that has the heft to play with some last-last gen systems. If I could keep it in the $500 or less range, that'd be cool. So, experts out there. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Jawbox
Look for a build with a Ryzen 3200g, the embedded Vega graphics are fast enough. Alternatively look for an older Alienware alpha r2. The fan can get loud on those though.
