Calling executables?

I'm extremely new to DosBox, and I'm trying to configure a new setup for the lab I work in. The issue I keep running into is how to make DosBox call an .exe (or even .py) while running a program? Is there any way to make this work? I'm using using DosBox to run Turbo Pascal programs, and need to be able to have DosBox call to an .exe that runs a dispenser.
