two4teezee
So I have BigBox added as a non-Steam game to my Steam library so I can use Steam's controller integration and Steam Link. I have noticed that I get significantly slower performance in more demanding emulation when I launch BigBox from Steam rather than from Launchbox. For example, NBA Jam on PS3 will run at 60fps when started from Launchbox or BigBox standalone (even with Steam etc. running in the background), but a BigBox instance launched from Steam will crawl at 10fps. I've tried running Steam as an administrator and that didn't seem to fix the issue. I'm a bit at a loss - why would emulation launched from BigBox perform poorly when BigBox is launched from Steam? Is it a resource allocation issue? Edited April 18, 2022 by two4teezee
