getting the images I see in MAME to be used in the Launchbox game grid (or shouldn't I)?

Hi.  I'm setting things up for the first time.

Starting with MAME itself I've managed to get to the point where I downloaded 0.244 and some ROMs and corresponding TITLE.zip and snap.zip files.  Based upon that I can get the games running in MAME, and when browsing the list in the kludgy mame interface I see images on the right side of the screen (presumable from either the title or snap files (?)).

Moving to Launchbox 13, when I did the import I unchecked having LB download images since I assumed that they'd be in the title.zip or snap.zip files.  What happens now is I can launch LB and run the games... but when browsing the games the ~ game grid only shows basic squares with the name of the games in generic font (i.e no artwork whatsoever).  When I single click any one game and get the details on the right I DO see images there --> maybe from my having done Tools | Image PAcks | Import, and pointed the ~ wizard to Mame's title and snap subdirectories?

So at this point I still don't have the artwork showing when looking at the games list (and I do have it set to "Images View" and not "List View".  I have learned about using Tools | Manage | Platforms to get to where I can edit default directories for things like Box Front, Box Back, etc.... but want to see what's the [best] next step to get the graphics showing in the main game grid.

1) By default, which images does LB normally use to populate the grid - "Box Front" or some other media type?

2) If I have snap and title files, is that supposed to [normally] have whatever artwork is used for #1?

3) At this point should I just reimport the ROMs and leave the ~ "have LB download art" checked?  If so then what's the point of/different from the title and snap images that I already downloaded?

Thanks so much in advance!
