Slybo
Fist of all: I bought the premium license hours before the Black Friday sale ended because I knew I'd regret it more than any buyers remorse I might feel. I have ZERO buyers remorse. I LOVE LaunchBox and I regret dismissing it for as long as I have. It does nearly all the things that I've pestered the RetroArch folks for. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 💖 Now that that's out of the way, the ScummVM support is garbage. They ScummVM team has officially stated that they will never support compressed (.zip/.rar/.7z) game images because of reasons that don't hold any water in todays high speed internet word, but they have the right to make that bad decision. LaunchBox offers the option to "EXTRACT ROMS". This fixes a world of soft-patch issues that RetroArch refused to address and ideally it should work with ScummVM games. IT DOESNT! There have been several user-made solutions to this problem such as: https://tinyurl.com/3arctcwh I'm happy to see that this works for some people, but it didn't work for me. That post was made 2 years ago. We're at the ass end of 2022 now. SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT HAVING THIS FIXED THIS ALREADY. You ask for money. Step up and deliver. I keep RetroArch/LaunchBox on a 1tb M.2 SSD usb drive. Space is at a premium and I would very much like to cook my ScummVM games down to 50% or less of their original size. I want to be able to .7z my ScummVM games and run them under either RetroArch or ScummVM. I'd prefer RetroArch because of the shader support but I'll take what I can get.
