Proper way to import steam games?

Hi, i recently imported my steam games (2 times) and i have to update over 75% of my games because LB couldn't find them. these are not obscure games either (FEAR, DOOM 3 BFG Edition, ect). i did the usual import steam games but i'm wondering if i need to import them as windows games?
