aspruce
I bought a pCloud account. pCloud is s cloud storage like Onedrive and Google Drive. When installed on a Windows computer it is set as a "p:-drive" in windows explorer. I can install that pCloud account on multiple windows computers. I uploaded the file structure of Launchbox, windows version 13.14 to p:\Lauchbox. Added a shortcut to three windows computers I have and then I started to upload roms-folders (in)to a \roms folder. Started Launchbox.exe from p:\Launchbox on one computer and then imported the roms and had Launchbox do the rest, indexing, finding media files and set up emulators. I choose this solution since I would like it to be easy to launch Launchbox on another computer without having to install Launchbox, then having to point all roms to p:\roms\ With this solution, all I have to do is to send the Launchbox.exe as a shortcut to the "new" computer and start Launchbox. Needless to say, starting Launchbox this way can takes up to three minutes depending on internet speed. Launching a larger rom can also take minutes to start. but mostly it takes seconds, up to 20 seconds to start a rom. All is working well. But I have some questions to you senior users. 1. Sometimes I get an error message when starting Launchbox. The solution is to download Launchbox locally on one computer. Extract the exe-file and upload the file structure to overwrite the files on p: What could cause this error? See attached file. 2. Is there a smarter way to do this then the above solution. Please note that I need "new computer"-setup to be as easy as to just start Launchbox.exe (from shortcut) and then have the solution start. 3. I would like to share my setup to a friend - just one. But I can not share the full p: since it is to large to share according to pCloud. One solution might be to just share each folder that is interesting to my friend? Folders like \Launchbox and \roms\(the folder my friend is interested in) and then share \roms\(the second folder my friend is interested in). I can not send my login in details to my friend, since I am using my Google Gmail to login to pCloud. Do you have a better solution?
