Launchbox preventing Duckstation from loading save file

I'm trying to launch a game from Launchbox into Duckstation.

If I launch from directly in Duckstation, my save files are acknowledged and load just fine.

If I try and launch the game from Launchbox, I get stuck at the save file menu and cannot progress further.

I see no changes between launching Duckstation directly or from within Launchbox, with the save files not loading being the only difference. 

What could be going on here that's preventing Duckstation from loading the memory card when launching through Launchbox?
