Gaming4MyKids Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Games that are accessed via Launchbox using Retroarch used to pick up the xbox controller’s button presses just fine. Now it is like no controller exists for these games. I don’t even know where to start on troubleshooting this and really need some help. …. I use Steam big picture mode for all my & my kids gaming (ages 13, 9, 5). We access all my retro games via Steam / BigBox / Launchbox. In Steam, I have 2 xbox controllers paired, and the PC also has 4 original Wii remotes that can be accessed via a mayflash wii bar. Games that are accessed via Launchbox using Dolphin use the Xbox Controller (for GC) and the Wii remotes (for Wii) just fine still. I only update BigBox / Launchbox / Emulators about once a year. …. Thank you Quote

Solution Gaming4MyKids Posted February 20 Author Solution Posted February 20 I've solved the issue. When I updated from Launchbox 13.12 to 13.19 AND updated retroarch from within manage/emulators my retroarch games' controller (Xbox 360) no longer functioned. While I hadn't updated Launchbox in about a year... I hadn't updated retroarch for YEARS. For some reason, my Mayflash WiiMote interfered with retroarch's port 1. Just updating port 1 did not solve the problem. The following steps did solve the issue: DELETE retroarch.cfg file Launch retroarch.exe o settings / input / retropad binds § Change Port 1 Controls from WiiMote PC (1) to Xbox Series Controller § Using Xbox controller, Save controller Profile § Repeat for Port 2 (as I have 2 Xbox Controllers) o settings / input / Hotkey § enable Hotkey should show --- § Quit (Controller Combo) = start & select o Main menu / online updater § Update Installed Cores o Main menu / configuration file § Save current configuration Quote
bentennyysonn Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Glad you got it sorted Deleting retroarch.cfg and reconfiguring the controller bindings was a smart move. It’s good to know the Mayflash WiiMote can interfere with RetroArch’s Port 1. Thanks for sharing the fix🎮👍 Quote
