Launchbox (Windows) Dreamcast games not loading Retroarch Flycast

Hi all,

I've got a bit of annoyance at the moment and wondered if some kind soul could help me out.

I have Launchbox and Retroarch installed and working just fine for most formats, however, noticed a short time ago that Dreamcast and Naomi 2 CHD games just will not load via Launchbox through Retroarch Flycast. The games run just fine though Retroarch directly using the Flycast core.

Naomi 2 non-chd games work just fine, Naomi chd and non-chd games work just fine. Dreamcast games are in .chd format with a couple of .cdi files both formats aren't working via Launchbox.

I can get the Dreamcast / Naomi / Naomi 2 games running via Launchbox through standalone Flycast and Redream, so it's not the end of the world, just an annoyance. I'm also having issues launching via Demul in Launchbox, but have found this historically finnicky at the best of times, so I'll do some more research and try and resolve that myself separately - fixed Demul! needed the default command line and a tweak to the Running Script.

Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to get these games booting via Launchbox through Retroarch Flycast? Let me know if you need any screenshots of my emulator setup pages etc.

Thanks,

Grim.

I've found the answer!

I'd set my Video Output in Retroarch to Vulkan, it looks like for the games to work (specifically) via Launchbox that I need to change the Video Output back to D3d12. I'd guess that when running games directly through Retroarch the video driver (this might not be the right terminology?) is adjusted to something other than Vulkan, but when using Launchbox it'll only use the one saved in the Retroarch config file?

Retroarch Video Output can be found in Settings --> Video --> Output --> Video

I'll have a look to see if there's any way to have a per core video driver (again, sorry if this is the wrong terminology) and report back here if i locate a method.
