Why are images deleted?

Hello all,

 I originally posted this but deleted it because I need to explain more clearly. First of all, I spent many hours putting my own images from MobyGames. For example, my images were already renamed years ago from MobyGames such as King's Quest 1 VGA (PC-A) or King's Quest 1 VGA (PC-B) to show front and back images. I would then drag those images to the game details image section. I can see those images. Also, I had over 73k images already in LaunchBox image folders. 

 After I switched to Default Plus theme then close the LaunchBox. Note that I had over 73k images. When I re-opened LaunchBox, I lost many images from Windows and DOS. For example, all of my Sierra, LucasArts, Microprose, etc.. All gone! However Steam and GOG still have those images because I downloaded from Launchbox, not using my own images. And I now have 65k images instead of 73k images. 

 What happened? I put this on a hold until I find that answer how to stop Launchbox from deleting those images.
