Sega Model 2 Emulator ini file not loading when Launching from Launchbox

Hey Everyone-

Not sure where to go on this, but I've been struggling with this for a couple of hours now. Games launch fine along with the control configurations when I launch out of Sega Model 2 emulator - however for some reason when I launch the games out of Launchbox, none of the control configurations work out of Launchbox.

When I alt-entered after launching out of Launchbox, I confirmed this by checking the "Configure controls" as none of the configurations where there strangely. Additionally (the other sign that I knew the emulator.ini file wasn't being utilized when launching out of LB), was that in my emulator.ini file I updated the XInput = 1 field to 0 (my wheel is a Direct Input wheel).  I noticed when launching out of LB that the configurations (which were incorrect) were all XInput configurations.

I exited out of Launchbox, and again launched the same game out of the emulator - the controls/everything worked.

Is there a flag I'm missing?  I'm seriously confused on why the ini file does not launch along with the game when launching the game out of LB.  Again, in the emulator it works.  Additionally, again the game does launch out of LB as expected - it's only the controls/ini settings that does not seem to be carrying over.

Any help would be appreciated! 
 

UPDATE: looks like the old adage about windows continues to be true: reboot the machine. 
 

This ultimately fixed the ini issue but unfortunately, i has the redo all the configuration which in of itself is strange as well. Still, it all now works.
