BigBox Crashes constantly within minutes

So I have a mini PC running an i5, it uses integrated Intel graphics and is just for retro games and works fine for everything up to Playstation 2

I stupidly updated launchbox after not updating for a year and now, after I load BB it will run for maybe a minute then just crash. Even when I am just in the options menu, freeze then crash.

I use the WMP video player and default theme only but no idea what has happened, as mentioned it ran fine for ages until now and even when not playing videos just sitting in the options menu it will die. 

Log shows nothing of value, just abruptly ends randomly like this:

Cannot use it at all and reverting back even to an old version has the same issue but this only started after I clicked "YES" to the update in BB. Drives me insane when all I want to do is quickly play a game.
