nvideo shield internal shared memory

after latest update shield will not allow retro arch or launchbox load and run any games.

it seems to be internal shared memory issue.

 

everything works fine on stock 16 GB memory, but if I format an external 500 GB USB hard drive and set it to let shield use it for internal memory launchbox and retroarch no longer work.

 

mame4droid works flawlessly.

 

what is stopping retroarch and launchbox from working?

 

launchbox sees and adds the roms but will crash if I try to play it.

 

the problem seems to be retro arch as it does the same thing.

update, it didn't work on shield...period!

I removed all external storage. did a factory reset. installed launchbox then retroarch. does not work.

any help?

I finally got everything working with retroarch and launch box. 

You have to go to launch box settings at the very beginning and make sure it says yes to load every single core by default. 

it seems to me for the Nvidia shield this should be the default setting but it's not If it was I would have never had an issue.

Glad you got it working, and thanks for posting the fix.

That setting tells LaunchBox to send the selected RetroArch core when launching games. Looks like the Shield needs that enabled for RetroArch to launch correctly.

We’ll keep this in mind in case we need to make that option clearer or adjust the default.
