Hotkeys and Lightguns

Hi guys, I recently got my hands on a beardbox to use in my arcade machine. Seem to have mapped the controls okay and have set the hotkey to exit games as select and start. However, a lot of my games also exit if I press the first two buttons on the bottom row of the player one, six button set up. Have no idea what is causing it and it only happens with certain emulators (dolphin and mame to name a couple) has anyone come across this before?

I also have two Sinden Lightguns and I don't even know where to begin with set up. Any help greatly appreciated.
