I grab a pack from my favorite torrent site. 600 roms and an emulator. It came with mame32. none of the games work I get a missing BIN error. I'm using Windows 10 is that an issue with mame32? I don't understand what I am looking for to make the roms and emulator compatible. Can someone clue me in on what I am looking for?

the Arcade1up's are just 4 in one machines. Not enough games.

I inquired about an 80's era Galaga cabinet. The guy wouldn't sell it to me if I was going to retrofit it for MAME. said he would only sell it to someone who was going to rehab it and get it working again.

Why is where to get roms a secret? I understand the internet is filled with places to get them, but why isn't there a link on a good rom package to download? Why do most places not package the roms and an emulator together? Why doesn't this site host a rom download package?

If my plan is to build a mame cabinet, with Launchbox as the front end, is there any way around using a keyboard and mouse, or are they required?

Thanks for all of the info. Some of the roms do work. I assume I have an issue with the roms I have and the emulator I'm using.

so a full rom set has 32000 games. do people put that many roms in launchbox? If I am only looking for the 250 games that are good enough to play, how would I do that?

I explained that wrong. I have 16GB of mame roms in roms folder of the emulator I picked Mame64. when I click on the box art, it will go to a screen that says initializing, but then it goes back to the box art screen.

I have Launch Box installed. I used the download full mame set function to download the roms. when I click on the box art, it will go to a screen that says initializing, but then it goes back to the box art screen. what am I doing wrong?
