  1. I am currently using the mamemess core with Emerson Arcadia 2001 and Bally Astrocade.

The systems are set up correctly with folder names and hash files as I can load the content from RetroArch and it correctly picks the correct system for the mamemess core.

From the LaunchBox side of things, I have been trying to apply the core via the Emulator settings on a platform level.

To get the systems in LunchBox I had to individually add the games manually from the menu and enter the correct platform name, this allowed it to be scraped correctly.

This may be the reason why no cores are displayed and I have to select it from the default core list. if mamemess core is selected it won't save the changes but selecting any other core will save the changes.

    I hope that makes sense.

  2. Can you add support for the MESS RetroArch core please.

As the mamemess core is not in the list, I manually copied the mamemess_libretro_android.so core from my RetroArch core directory to  LaunchBox/Emulators)RetroArch/cores directory. I can then select Default Core and select add downloaded core then choose the mamemess core from the list.

The issue I have is that it is not saving those settings unless I select any core other than the mamemess core.

    Thanks.

  3. I fixed my issue. I was using the "Unified Lite - Vertical Wheel" theme when I had the video issues, when I used the theme "wheel with Details and set the video to play in the background that how I found that the video does play.

So al I did was to go back to the original theme "Unified Lite - Vertical Wheel" and from there go to View Setting and remove the "Background Videos" option, I never had to do this before.

Everything is now good, thanks again.

  4. Since updating to the Official release of 1.13 some videos won't play correctly, there is audio but no video. If I revert LaunchBox back to a previous version such as 1.13-beta-3 the videos work fine. I've also tried toggling the option "Use Hardware Decoding for VLC Video Playback" in the Official release of 1.13 but it doesn't help.

Update: It seems to be platform specific, the videos in for example Atari 2600 don't play video, but they do on platform Atari 5200. If I copy a video from the Atari 5200 video folder and paste it into the Atari 2600 video folder and rename it to a game that exists. I then select that game on the Atari 2600 platform and the video will play audio only. I just wanted to rule out a  video decoding issue.

Thanks all. Beta 5 is out now with a hopeful fix for the above startup issues. There were several different issues posted, so I'm not 100% confident that everything will be fixed with this beta, but I'm hoping so.

Please let me know how this beta fares.

If you're unable to update because you can't get into the LaunchBox interface, you can manually download beta 5 here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dzmzpzjmzcr1b4r/LaunchBox-Android-1.1-beta-5.apk?dl=0

Good news, beta 5 has fixed the problem I was having.

@Jason Carr I'm having a problem getting this latest beta to start. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, but it always crashes at startup. On a strange note, the file in my downloads folder indicates that it's "beta-4". And when I revert back to version 1.0 there's no issues.

I am also having the same problem. My Android device is still at version 10, I didn't want to upgrade to version 11 due to the problem with the new storage permissions.
