My comment is unhelpful TL:DR I could not reproduce the issue. Just to help rule out possibilities here is what I did in order to attempt to reproduce your issue: I've never played a DOS game in Bigbox. I installed a game using the exodos bat scripts that get loaded when you click a DOS game for the first time and played it with dos in fullscreen and then closed it. I then opened bigbox and selected to play that same game and did not experience any issues. Possible solution to test- Open game properties go to Startup/Pause tab, ExoDOS set the default as disabled "enable game startup screen". You might try enabling game startup screen and turning on one or both of the hide window settings. That said those may be a reason exodos automatically disabled that setting. Good luck.
