  1. Hi all, I realise this isn't strictly a Launchbox/Bigbox issue, but I'm hoping someone here may have seen the problem and have a solution. I'm lucky enough to have my emulation PC hooked up to a projector and a 115" screen (bigbox looks amazing!). I have a Mayflash Dolphin bar directly underneath it and connected to a wiimote in a light gun shell. The wiimote itself works fine. I can use it with Dolphin in mayflash mode 1 or 4 with no trouble. Except...its WAY to fast/sensitive. A big part of why light gun games are so fun is that your real life movements translate to in game results, in this case aiming and shooting. If the in game reticule doesn't match where you're actually aiming, it doesn't have the same feeling. You may as well be aiming with a mouse (sometimes fun, but not what I'm going for here). The cursor speed isn't a massive issue with some games, but light gun games in particular are pretty difficult. Here's a poorly drawn demonstration of the aiming/cursor disconnect I'm experiencing. I feel like the simple solution here would be to adjust the sensitivity of the movement or calibrate it somehow, but options in windows/dolphin seem limited. Here's what I've tried so far: Most in game tests were performed with HotD Overkill and DeadSpace Extraction. - Mayflash mode 4 (Wiimote emulation mode) - Dolphin + ingame calibration. Upon calibrating, it makes the sensitivity worse and the cursor often ends up offscreen. - Mayflash mode 1 (mouse emulation mode). Cursor moves too fast (as expected). Turning down the mouse speed in windows doesn't seem to affect the wiimote, only the real mouse. Disabling the real mouse in windows then changing cursor speed also didn't work. - Mayflash mode 1 + Dolphin "Emulated wiimote" option. I had hope for this one, as there are a few settings here for cursor speed. Unfortunately, nothing I tweaked seemed to change much except the "Relative Input" mode, which DOES make the cursor slower, but not in a good way. Turning it on made the in game cursor almost un-findable. Calibration screen in Dolphin shows the in game cursor trailing well behind the actual aimed wiimote seemingly with odd acceleration. I suspect this still might be the answer, but I don't know what I'm doing with the settings. - Mayflash mode 4 + Touchmote software. The special touch indicator appears on screen, but is just as inaccurate. Touchmote has no sensitivity or calibration settings I can find. - Mayflash mode 1/4 + GlovePIE software. Admittedly I couldn't get the wiimote to register properly, but I haven't spent a heap of time on it. - Moving the sensor bar. Can help with centering the cursor with aimed wiimote, but doesn't help the sensitivity - Different sensor bar...Kind of. I've tested replacing the sensor bar with 2 tea lights and a bluetooth adapter. I get similar issues, which would suggest its probably not a problem with the actual sensor bar. - Moving further back. This one is difficult as the room isn't all that big. I can stand around 2.5m (8.2ft) from the screen at most. I've tried climbing over couches and out windows/doorways to see if distance is the issue. It seems to help a little, but kinda impractical for the room. My wife wondered what the hell I was doing... - Screen aspect ratio. I also though this one might be the ticket, but no luck. Changing between 16:9 and 4:3 ratios in Windows, dolphin or in-game doesn't seem to help. - Different screen. Pulled the setup into the lounge room and connected it to a 60" LG TV. No improvement in accuracy. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to try next. It it just a limitation of using an IR based solution? I don't remember having issues back when I was actually using a real Wii, but I'll admit that was a good few years ago. I'm kinda hoping I've just missed something really simple here. If anyone has any suggestions of what to try, I'll be more than happy to give it a go. Thanks for reading!
