  1. Apologies for the long delay in responding. I got the dreaded "Launchbox won't launch" issue. Nothing from the forums worked until I tried the suggestion of running SetUp from the Updates folder. That worked! Many thanks to SentaiBrad for that tip! Retro808: Your suggestion worked! Thank you! I had previously remapped the Navigate Up/Down/Left/Right controls. But your suggestion made me try remapping the mouse controls. For some reason, that was not intuitive to me (remapping the "mouse" controls to navigate with the joystick instead of remapping the "navigate" controls to navigate with the joystick). It was a simple solution to a silly understanding problem on my end. Again, many thanks to you!
  2. Controller buttons unfortunately. ☹️
  3. You'll have to let us know your secret, DOS76. Here are some previous forum posts from users selecting "North America" as the region and experiencing an overload of Hispanic ROMs or Hispanic ROMs being chosen as default when a USA or Canada (or both) ROM is available: https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/51807-mame-setting-default-rom-region/?tab=comments#comment-328287 https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/50554-region-priorities-seems-to-have-no-effect/?tab=comments#comment-323091 https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/41870-search-informations-in-the-version-field-not-possible-yet/?tab=comments#comment-311287 https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/47077-mame-arcade-import-region-issues/?tab=comments#comment-296882 https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/43851-sfiii-new-gen-missing-from-cps3-playlist/?tab=comments#comment-278167 https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/42172-simple-question-if-i-decide-to-import-all-mame-games-minus-some-checkmarked-in-the-wizard/?tab=comments#comment-267537 https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/42194-importing-all-mame-games-regardless-of-duplication-and-prioritizing-country-possible/?tab=comments#comment-267444 https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/36935-79-beta-1-released/page/4/?tab=comments#comment-233357 Although it might have more to do with the types of games we play. I mostly play fighter/puzzle/RPG games, and so did a lot of the users in these posts. The Mexico -> USA -> Canada priority may only affect these types of games.
  4. It doesn't change which regions/versions are brought in (it brings in all of them), it only sets which region/version is selected by default when you click "Play". You can manually pick which region/version you want to use per-game if you want. In my experience, "World" is the region equivalent of the "International" or "Europe" release. I do not know how LaunchBox's pecking order works exactly (does it choose "World" first and "Japan" second if it can't find "World"?), but choosing "World" gives me the best experience. Choosing "North America" basically sets the pecking order to Mexico -> U.S.A. -> Canada. No idea why it would do that considering more games were released for U.S.A. & Canada than Mexico, but if you want your title screens in English instead of Spanish, choose "World".
  5. If I could just get a "You can't configure joysticks with LaunchBox" or something similar, I would appreciate it. I'm only following up because: (a.) Similar questions were asked twice before from other users as far back as 2017 without any responses, and (b.) Flipping joystick axis is a standard option in most PS4/XBOX/PC games I have played - hard to believe this isn't possible with a simple config edit. So let me know if I am just being daft.
  6. I am using two joysticks with USB encoders. MAME, Retroarch, Windows 10, etc. all work correctly with no tinkering (90% sure I installed the joysticks correctly). But the X-axis and Y-axis are switched in Lauchbox and BigBox (Up = Right, Left = Up, Down = Right, Right = Down). How do I change this? I looked in the following places before posting here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hVGF22vhOI&list=PL6pTDaHeAz-WMcNURVPU-1xLN_TVpT3FB&index=6&t=0s (unrelated as my joysticks do not use keyboard commands) https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/38683-remap-joystick-axes-in-bigbox/ (no replies to this post) https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/46312-invert-joystick-for-big-box-navigation/ (no replies to this post) Thank you in advance!
  7. Thank you. The problem was that there wasn't a "sleep" entry in my mame.ini file, so as I was following your "Mame Tutorial for n00bs" I added the lines: sleep 0 skip_gameinfo 1 But further down in # CORE MISC OPTIONS, there is already a skip_gameinfo entry of "0". So I was turning it off at the top, and it was turning it back on at the bottom. So for any other n00bs like me: you need to add the "sleep" entry and edit the skip-gameinfo entry. Thanks again, Lordmonkus!
  8. I spent a long time Googling for an answer to this before posting here, but unfortunately Big Blue is a frontend, the Blue Box Group makes audio/video equipment, and the Pop Tops wrote a song in the 70s called Mamy Blue. So I got pages and pages of unrelated results. Issue: When I start any MAME game, a blue info box pops up in the center of the screen that lists the ROM Name, Driver, CPU, Sound, Video, etc. Question 1: How do I permanently stop that from happening and go straight to the game? Question 2 (unrelated, but I already have your ear so...): Is there any way to bypass the "Don't Do Drugs" public messages and other nonsense in MAME the way Retroarch skips them? Thank you in advance.
