    Not a direct answer to your question, but considering you are already using RetroArch, you're better off using the Flycast core for Dreamcast, Atomiswave, Naomi and Naomi 2. Demul is pretty much dead.

    And as far as exit scripts go, I would avoid using Alt + F4 exactly for the reason you're describing. In an exit script it's much better to specify exactly which window should be closed. Like:

    WinClose, ahk_exe demul.exe

    or

    WinClose, ahk_exe {{{StartupEXE}}}

    *Edit*

    To give an example of an exit script for Demul, I have the following exit script that exits Demul with Escape in LaunchBox > Tools > Manage > Emulators > Demul, in the "Running Script" tab:

    $Esc::
    {
    WinClose, ahk_exe {{{StartupEXE}}}
    }

    This only closes Demul and nothing else.

    I figured out what the problem was in my other thread. now i don't need to use demul lol.

  2. So I'm not sure what's causing the problem, i did some trial and error.

    Did all my tests on my gaming PC because its faster loading and transfering files.

    So I transferred the dell retroarch, the one not working on to my gaming pc, i also downloaded a fresh install of retroarch zip file.

    Now I have 3x Retroarchs on my gaming PC, 1: from my dell the one with coin not registering, 2: fresh install of retrarch zip file, 3: retroarch that i used for testing has so many configs and extras from testing games and saving configs and what not.

    Retroarch 1 on gaming PC still doesn't register coin.

    Retroarch 2 coin registers

    Retroarch 3 coin registers

    What I did is transered bundles of files over from Retroarch 2 to Retroarch 1 and repalced the old files, and each time a new bundle of files was transferred I tested the game with Retroarch 1. At the end once all files from Retroarch 2 was transferred to Retroarch 1, the game still doesn't recognize my coin button. lol then I realized that was wrong. So i started again, and transferred files from Retroarch 1 to Retoarch 2, and figured out  what the problem was, it was a controls remap that was giving me the problem.

    Attached are the keymaps

    so i went back to my dell pc, deleted the old keymap and saved a new one. and everythings is working!

    Of course there's a way. ;) It's a different approach for pressing [controller] buttons.  But for pressing keyboard keys, it goes something like this:

    Enter & Esc::
       WinClose, ahk_exe {{{StartupEXE}}}
    Enter::Enter

    If you holder Enter then hit Escape, it will execute the WinClose statement.  Otherwise, if your press Enter and let go, it will 'press Enter'.

    WOW, this actually works! Thanks a bunch.

    Thanks, so theres no way to edit this script to press 2 buttons to exit demul?

    I'm only using demul for marvel vs capcom 2, because i have a really weird issue. here is my issue: https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/68048-very-weird-mvsc2-kunundrum/

    but yea thanks for the instructions, I was actually putting it under exit script.

  5. Hi everyone,

    if someone could point me to the right direction, currenlty I have retroarch to quit  a game with (with hotkey enabled)  "enter+esc" I also have the confirm quit, so I have to press the esc twice.

    I have demul working and before adding the hotkey enabled, my muscle memory presses the esc button twice, which if you pressed fast enough, closes also the last window opened, which would be launcbox (i've tested it with file explorer too) so i'm guessing its using "alt+f4) as default.

    I'd like to get a script to be able to use 2 buttons to close demul, perferable "enter+esc" and if possible to also confirm quit (not necessary, but if its possible please) my reason is I have kids running around and like to press all sorts of buttons, and if I could eliminate them pressing just esc while i'm in game thatd be great.

    Thanks.

  6. So I have this weird, very weird issue.

    I got Marvel vs Capcom 2 to work on 2 machines, ones my higher end gaming PC running 5800x on a x570 board and 2080 card, the other one is on a dell optiplex 9020 sff (this one is a fresh windows 10 install only going to used for my arcade games)

    So the thing is i got the mvsc2.zip on my gaming PC and do my tests for all my retro gaming stuff on here, got it working using flycast libretro on retoarch. on default its free play. i firgured out how to get into the diagnostics service area to be able to change the free play to use credits/coins. works great! Now when i copied the file to a usb and transfered it to my dell pc and did the same things, everything works except the fact that my "coin" button (default was right shift)  does not register even when testing the inputs within the diagonistics testing area

    I tried another game within flycast on my dell (but this one was an atomis wave one) and the right shift coin button works.

    everything on the dell pc is a fresh install, launchbox, restroarch, my go to games works fine within bigbox and launchbox, i just can't get the coin button to work on marvel vs capcom 2 on the dell.

    any input would be greatly appreciated.

  7. Is there an updated version of this? I'd like to do the same, but I think the provided link is dead.

    thanks.

    That sure looks like a generic screenshot from CPWizard: http://headsoft.com.au/index.php?category=cpwizard

    It can do most of what you mentioned. You design a control panel with your button layout, and it renders the button actions based on what MAME rom is playing. It can display for a set time on game startup, or as a pause action midgame.

  8. I have a weird problem. I have installed Launchbox 11.9 (now 12.1) on an old PC couple months back, and everything is working fine. I decided to downloaded it on my gaming PC today (I've previously installed LB couple years back before purchasing another PC for just LB), so I downloaded the latest version 12.3 and installed it. Installed Retroarch, added the emulator settings on Launchbox, named it Arcade, chose fbneo_libretro.dll, and imported the roms into Launchbox. Once I try to play the game, it gives me an error "FBNeo Error" Retroarch also notifies saying "Romset is Unkown".

    But the game plays fine on Retroarch standalone. I've tested Sega Genesis games, and they work, I've tried Nintendo Games, and it works. Just Arcade games through FBNeo.

    I've tried downloading and installing 11.8, 11.9, and 12.1. They all work. But once I install LB 12.3, it gives me this error and can't play arcade games.

    I haven't tried updating it from 12.1 to 12.3 to see if works or not. I will try again later in the morning.

    Hi @huffyX0,

    Looks like you managed to solve most of your issues there.

    Yes, that LaunchBox image in your last screenshot is showing that you are missing artwork for that game.

    If I remember correctly, you should be able to download the COMMUNITY Theme Creator files and load them up into the CTC to generate your own images.

    generate as in make my own? i think i've seen a video of someone doing it.

  10. Hi everyone, just a few questions

    I've downloaded the theme Night at the Arcade, and I was wondering if anyone knows how to change the video that plays within the arcade cabinet from the theme video, into the video that is actually playing (check picture with green circle, it is what i want the video playing when the game is highlighted.

                              ***EDIT*** I got the video working. I had theme videos downloaded, all I had to do is delete all those videos in that folder and now it uses the actual video and not the theme.

    The picture with the red circle, the marquee image isn't showing. And was wondering how to get it to work, as you can see I have the marquee, and it also shows it when the game isn't highlighted, and disapears when the game is highlighted.

                              ***EDIT*** I got this working too. It was the tv I was using, I believe it was the resolution that made it screw it up. I'm on my laptop accessing my bigbox pc through remote desktop and this looks fine now with the images at the top.

    The picture with the blue circle, i'm assuming I don't have that certain box art for it, right?

    Thanks in advance!

  11. So I was configuring FB Neo with Launcbhox and Retroarch. I was looking at some controls, and I was wondering what the difference between hitting F1 going to "quick menu > controls > port 1 controls" VS hitting F1 going to "Settings > Input > port 1 controls"

    which one do i change? and if changing one will it affect the other?

  12. I have a full romset for mame 0.223. And I was auditing some files and I see Amiga 1000 Keyboard and other keyboards and other unplayable zip files within the rom folder. I was wondering if I need these files or its safe to remove them?

    Thanks in advance.

  13. I've looked around launchbox options and trying to figure out how to remove this splash screen but I can't seem to find it. Anyway to remove it? The one that has a black bar that runs across the screen and the final burn logo. if it's under the retroarch settings please guide me where I can disable it . Hey I just downloaded your huge 779 GB CP78 LP edition. I followed your instructions. I turned off defender on my PC, changed the drive letter to H and download Yuzu  and installed Direct X9 and still can’t play games from astonishwave Naomi and lots of other games. I am running a GeForce Gt 1030 video in a dell Optiplex 3020. Desk top. I tried to watch your videos on YouTube, but they’re privet. Can you help me out?

    I'm also having this problem too. I want to be able to play the taito type x games. But doesn't seem to work "out of the box". One game worked which was haunted museum.

    I've even tried opening each game from the root srouce. But no go. Have you gotten it to work @Sibaeno

    I'm working on a ryzen 7 3700x with a Rtx 2080.

  15. I have some Sammy Atomiswave games working (through flycast in retroarch) and if I have extra credits and decided to close the game, and then open it up again the credits do not reset to 0 (where as I'm mame and FB neo does reset) is there a way to change this?

  16. Hello,

    I have the FB Neo Rom set and I've been playing some shmups and didn't notice this when playing 1plyaer. I decided to play some 2 players with a friend. I noticed that when you "insert coin" for player 2 it gives you 2 credits, I checked the options for the dip switches for the rom and the only option is for coin chute 2 is either 2 or 4 credits. I was wondering if you can edit the dip switches in a way so that it shows 1 credit for 1 coin?

    Thanks in advance.

  17. New here.  Hello everyone!

    I currently have FB Neo installed as my core for my arcade games through Retroarch. 2 of the games that I play do not work, but I figured a way to get them working by giving them a custom command line parameter to open up with MAME 2016 core.  The problem I have is, with FB Neo (and console cores), when I press the ESC button twice. It closes Retroarch. Now with the 2 games (Killer Instinct 1 and 2) when I try to ESC retroarch, it goes to the Mame UI where you select the games you want to play.

    I have set it to my liking and if my kids were to play the UI has the ability to change options and what not which I afraid might happen. Is there a way for to close without going to the mame ui?

    I know Mame 2003 Plus doesn't do this. As I had tried a Mame 2003 Plus rom set to see if there are any differences between Mame Rom set and an FB Neo rom set.
