  1. OK, you guys were right, but the whole Custom URL thing is a little confusing and there's very little explanation of this in the import wizard or on steam. When I went to edit and looked at the Custom URL field, I didn't realize that I had to have something entered into the blank field. I've played on Steam since its inception and never had anything set here. Underneath it said your profile will be available at https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/, and then my profile number. At no point did anything ever say that I needed to type anything into that field. I just entered some random text as a "name" and then the custom URL changed to https://steamcommunity.com/id/, and then the text that I'd typed. Once I entered that into the Custom URL field in the import wizard, everything started working and the import is taking place now. I really appreciate the replies and your guy's help, but I really think the whole custom URL thing could be made a little more clear.
  2. Thanks for your reply. As far as errors, only the text that I quoted with general suggestions, none of which apply. Your account could not be accessed. I have the latest version of LaunchBox and it doesn't ask for user ID or password. It asks for Steam Custom URL (profile number) and API Key. I've entered everything that it asks for, correctly, and all of my privacy settings are set to public, so I know those aren't the issue. Actually, when I look closer, I think the problem is in the import wizard itself. When it asks for my Steam Custom URL, it already has https://steamcommunity.com/id/, and then I just have add my profile number. The problem is that this is not my custom URL and if I enter that directly into a browser it says the selected URL cannot be found. My custom URL uses https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/, and then my profile number. If I enter that directly into a browser, it goes right to my profile. I think the problem is in the import wizard itself; that something about Steam's custom URLs has changed and the import wizard isn't taking that into account. That's the only possible thing I can see as the issue. Nothing else about what you mentioned is incorrect.
  3. I've managed to import all of my game libraries except for the main one, Steam. I literally have at least a few games on every other game store front that LaunchBox can access, and I've successfully imported from all of them, except for Steam. I have the privacy settings set correctly on my Steam account. I've entered all of the correct information that Steam asks for. I've read through Steam import problem threads that I can find, but I can't find anything that I've left out or done wrong. It just keeps failing and saying the Your Account Could Not Be Accessed. One thing that I thought was strange was that in the cannot access box it suggest that I should confirm my Steam ID. At no point in the import process did it ever ask for my Steam ID. It asks for my Steam Custom URL and for my API Key, which I gave, but it never asked for my ID or password like when importing from other store fronts. So far, I've provided every single bit of information that the import wizard has asked for and have my Steam privacy settings set correctly, but it just won't work and I don't know what else to try. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks.
  4. Yeah, thanks for your reply, but I don't think that was it. When Space Invaders wasn't importing, it was when I was importing only North American titles. It didn't get included then. If the filter didn't include Space Invaders as a North American title, I would definitely think it wouldn't include Cosmic Monsters. The same goes for Puckman, though Pac-Man has no issues with my initial imports. Still, it took a little bit of extra work, but I think I have my perfect set now. There just seem to be some quirks when importing and trying to filter to North American only titles.
  5. Ah, there we go. I figured there was something easy that I was missing. OK, so Tools->Import->ROM Files...-> Gotcha. Thanks guys!
  6. I've been having trouble importing MAME ROMs correctly, or at least the way I think they should be importing, which may or may not be "correctly". First of all, let me start by saying that I'm a MAME and LaunchBox newbie, but I'm trying to learn. If I'm doing or saying something completely idiotic, please try to overlook it and steer me in the right direction. I'm working with a Mame 0.226 Full Non-Merged Set. From there, I'm trying to create what I'm calling my Perfect Set. The trouble is that certain games are being excluded when I think they shouldn't be. So first of all. I first noticed an issue when I imported and tried to exclude all non-North American clones. By default, I had all the check boxes in the second section checked; the ones that exclude all the various non-arcade type games. When I imported this group of games, I first noticed that Rush'N Attack, definitely a North American title, was not included. I could only get this title to import by importing all clones and not excluding by region. The second issue came up when I noticed that while I had a handful of Space Invaders titles, the original Space Invaders from 1978 was not included in my imported titles when I excluded non-North American clones. Likewise, I have to import all clones with no regional preference to get this title included in my import. Finally, in frustration, I spent a couple of hours importing various ways, running audits and manually deleting titles from regions that I didn't want, then copying files over to a new directory via Windows File Explorer to get what I consider my perfect set. Now the issue is, now that I've compiled this directory of ROMs, I want to import them all without any filtering whatsoever. However, I see no way to do that. The only way that I see to import for MAME is to import a full MAME ROMset. When I do this, I'm forced to pick the filtering options, and no filtering isn't an option. Is there another way to import my self-filtered directory of ROMs? Lastly, I'd kind of like to understand why some titles aren't included with an import when they obviously should have been. Thanks!
  7. Super! All new programs, all new terminology to learn. Thanks again for getting me looking into all the options and features though.
  8. Well, I did try. I deleted the files myself from File Explorer, then re-scanned, and it picked up that the game was missing and asked if I wanted to delete it. However, when I deleted from within LaunchBox, it didn't initially ask me if I wanted to delete the ROM. Later, I found the delete ROM switch in the settings and now it asks me if I wish to delete the ROMs when deleting games. At no point does it ever ask me is I wish to delete images or other metadata though. Actually, after I was done deleting games, whether manually, or from with LaunchBox, it appears that none of the metadata was deleted, because I found the Clean Up Media option, and that found all the metadata for the games I had deleted and asked me if I wanted to delete them or move them to a folder, so they were still there until I ran Clean Up Media and had it delete the files. Either way, I now know how to get rid of the metadata if I delete games. Thanks!
  9. I'm setting up RetroArch and LaunchBox on my gaming desktop. I plan to stream them through my SteamLink to my 50" TV in my bonus room and play using a X-Arcade Tankstick With Trackball and an XBox One bluetooth controller. I plan to eventually register LaunchBox and use Big Box, but I'm starting out with the free version to learn before I pay for it. I saw how long it took to download all the extra images and other metadata for close to 700 Atari 2600 games. The more I look at that list, the more I see tons of titles that I know I'll absolutely never play, and I haven't even started adding NES, SNES, Genesis, and arcade titles yet. I'm curious about deleting titles now that I have downloaded all that metadata. I'm considering going in and culling down my list to just titles that I think I'll really play. I know I can run an update that will remove the titles for the ROMs I've deleted. Will this also delete any associated metadata for those deleted titles? Thanks.
