  1. Wished this was a little more noob-friendly and intuitive but got it to work via a batch script. Thanks!
  2. Hi! Is there any way to set videos that play on game launch? Some (mostly old) pc games' intro movies/ splash screens don't work anymore. It would be nice to be able to play video files via launchbox/bigbox, where that's the case. Also: Many emulators enable us to play splash screens on startup, though not every one of them. Is there a way to set a platform specific startup video? Thanks!
  3. Thank you very much, I finally understood the logic behind the process.
  4. Hello, I have a question. How would one go about importing the correct metadata and media of a game with multiple entries? For example, typing 'doom' into the title field and clicking 'search for metadata' only brings up the doom game from 2016. I'd like to import the original though. Typing in 'doom (1993)' brings up a lot more doom-related entries, but still not the actual game I'm looking for. Is there any way to import game metadata via an id or something? Thanks in advance!
  5. Hi there! I am very puzzled right now. My impression was that LaunchBox should mainly serve as a frontend to launch games with. However I'm running into a problem where starting an N64 game seems to introduce a different controller profile into RetroArch than the one I'm usually using. That wouldn't be a huge deal if I could simply configure and safe this new profile, but RetroArch just won't safe it. Essentially every time I quit a game (and RetroArch) and start another I have to configure my buttons again. Specifically, I'm using a Nintendo 64 controller that's listed as an Xbox 360 controller in RetroArch. Without LaunchBox I can map the usual buttons of a modern controller, including L2 and R2. Now, when booting up RetroArch via LaunchBox, the controller profile is still called 'Xbox 360 controller', but now it seems specifically tailored towards the N64 controller layout, with a Z-trigger instead of L2 and R2. Is this a LaunchBox feature I didn't know about? There has to be some connection as starting RetroArch without LaunchBox consistently loads up the standard Xbox-Controller-Scheme. Any ideas what's going on here? Edit: So on further testing it seems that RetroArch is unable to save ANY settings when launched via LaunchBox. Is this by design? Edit 2: Okay, it seems that was because of a core override config. I had to disable it, configure my controller and enable it again. Now everything seems to be in working order. Question still stands though, why does LaunchBox affect the controller layout inside RetroArch?
  6. That did the trick, thank you. Now if only I would get the box art not to fade away...
  7. I'm using the Colorful theme. Already dug into the settings files, too, but unsure what to look for exactly.
  8. Hi there, I have a few issues with Big Box that I could use some help with. First off, I selected 3D box art as game image type in Launchbox as well as in Big Box -- however it's still showing flat 2D box art in game view. Is there another setting I have to enable within my theme preferences? I'm using Colorful, btw. Another thing: Under my current configuration, the box art appears and then disappears after 5 - 6 seconds or so. Is there a way to make it not disappear again? I'm sure there must be, but I just can't find it. Bonus question: I tried to set some background music by putting a .mp3 in Launchbox > Music > Background. That generally works, however background music always starts with a few seconds delay (and also stops with some noticable delay after shutting down Big Box), which makes it feel less like 'genuine' menu music. Is there any way to load music with higher priority or something? Thanks in advance!
