@Lordmonkus Hey bud. I tried that file .  It only works if you are running games directly thru MAMEUI not thru Launchbox.  it didn't work for me.

It should work if running standalone Mame, since LB is just a frontend. I can’t comment on using the Retroarch Mame core (I know it also has shaders), but you  might want to try standalone if not using it.

  2. Hi

I’ve imported a zipped directory of a dos game as a rom in Launchbox, which  loads through Retroarch using the Dosbox Pure core. However, when starting the game, I get an ‘out of memory’ message. After some research I understand that running ‘loadfix’ before the usual parameter should solve this and this should be put in a .bat file which I think LB should point to instead of the zip file. I’m struggling to figure out what exactly should go in the .bat file. I’ve created a .bat file in the game directory containing "loadfix -32 gamename.zip". Dosbox Pure is launched, reserving 32k of memory, but the game doesn’t load. Can someone help?

    Many thanks.

  4. BB gets very sluggish (not theme specific), after making changes in options. Happens every time and is only resolved by restarting BB. Other than that operation is slick. I’ve observed this behaviour for some time and I upgrade as soon as a new version is out. I also regularly upgrade my nvidia driver and have 16gb of RAM.

I'm really liking game discovery center... I set it to a hotkey and the main view I use is Platform Categories. Once you go into game discovery and hit the back button it goes to settings. Is there a way for the back button to go to the previous view (Platform Categories in my case). I would rather not have to do another hotkey for this if possible.

If you try, I suspect you will encounter the bug I describe above.

  6. I've discovered a bug in BB 13.9. I've key mapped the 'Game Discovery Center' and also 'Show Playlists' [to enable me to flip back to my normal startup playlist view]. When flipping back to my playlists the sound of the video of the previously selected game [in Game Discovery Center] still plays in the background of the playlist video. This doesn't happen if a select the 'Show Playlists' from the system menu.

I've also experienced a freeze exiting a Visual Pinball game [stuck at 'Game Details'] - solved by pressing 'Alt Tab' and selecting the windows I already see ['Game details']. Went in again and exited fine, so the issue appears to be intermittent.

  7. If you select it as the default, the database will recognise it when you type "Pac-man", having cleared the ”Puckman" entry. Unfortunately, I’ve not found a way to prevent the parent being restored on a full Mame import. You also have to change the Clear-logo

  8. I religiously update Mame each month using the full romset importer. I have to change the default for a number of games every time. For example launching Pac-Man instead of Puck-Man (I have to point to Pac-Man.zip, rename as Pac-Man and change the clear logo.)  Is there a way of LB keeping the existing setting when I reimport?

    Thanks.

Hmm, what is your image type set to under Big Box > Options > Images > Image Type?

Backgrounds hence the culprit. Changed to "Boxes" and now all is good. Wtf no idea how I ended up with that setting.

    Thanks for your help.

The next step would be to press Ctrl+A, and then F5 to select all games and refresh the images in LaunchBox. That will refresh LaunchBox's image cache for those games. My hunch is that the images are just showing up in LaunchBox because they're cached. Let me know if the images go away in that case, or if they still show up.

I have the same behaviour using the Old Default. Using the Colorfull theme the artwork displays on the ‘play’ screen (the same artwork is shown in LB - Box-Front).

    They are all still there

Okay, do those games display box art in LaunchBox? I saw this recently after I deleted by Settings.xml and BigBoxSettings.xml files to reset all of my settings. What happened is that the media folders got changed as a result. So go to Tools > Manage Platforms in LaunchBox and check that your media folders are correct for those platforms.

LB displays the images (including in the right hand pane) and the locations under the platforms are the defaults.
