then is there any way i can load a sav file for the game on desmume through retroarch? ive tried tricking it into believing the .sav file included in this file - https://archive.org/details/mcdonalds-japan-ecdp-rom-training-nintendo-ds-cartridge-dump - is a .dsv file and putting it into the retroarch saves for the game, but nothing works.

i found out that i imported in the update roms. thank you for helping, though.

so I followed the most recent tutorial to set up MAME, got 0.240, and all the games and game metadata installed, and boom, its not working. Every time I try to launch up a game, it gives a black screen for a few seconds and then goes back to launchbox. What do I do.
