I'm seeing a lot of Japanese titles (in Japanese characters) of games being removed. This seems odd to me, especially in cases where the title only ever officially existed in Japanese. As long as the title is correctly tagged as an alternative name shouldn't these remain so the game can be searched for?

Ah I see - I suppose if it was an existing or custom field everyone would need to agree on the same one to use for it to be much use? I'm new to LaunchBox and haven't gone much further than PS1 games yet - do all systems share the same database fields?

It would be great if Playstation 1 games could have a serial number field in their metadata (eg SLPS 02422) This is a super easy and accurate way to identify a game even when an english translation may be incorrect.
