Thank you so much for that. I did a fresh install before reading this. Finally figured out that the game I was wanting to play wasn't a lightgun it was actually a joystick input for some reason. So I changed the input options for the mouse to 1 and now it seems to be working.

Hey Everyone, I'm having a little issue here with the controls for lightgun games. I'm wanting to use my mouse pad as a light gun when playing arcade games. I've found threads that point out to simply change some lines of text in the MAME.ini file. Only problem is I don't seem to have one. I've located the folder where it should be with the MAME.exe but the only .ini file I have there is a ui.ini file. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something really obvious here but can anyone help?
